They have a serious job, that should be taken seriously. If it was a loved one of yours that had an emergency and the lifeguards were pulling this, you wouldn’t be laughing.

Actually it takes closer to 2 minutes for drowning to set in. Brain damage occurs after the brain is starved of oxygen for 4 to 6 minutes but you lose consciousness after about 2 minutes.
Jethro has a great personality and a kind smile as well even though he had a dislocated arm he still managed to save people Jethro is my favourite character ❤

You are one of the fewest people here in the comment section that I agree with. So many underestimate the tower watcher's role. He has the best viewing range to spot potential drowning people, and with him out, the zone he is designated is not being guarded right now. The other lifeguards are no better either. Should have just laughed at get to rescuing.
I'm sure all the other guys on side by sides and across all the other towers are going to see someone get swept out and say "oh dang, if only Jethro hadn't locked himself in that tower we'd get to save that person". Bondai is probably one of the most well patrolled beaches in the world. They're not going to let someone drown because one dude is missing.
@@cereal76 us ocean lifeguards have systems in place even if a beach is somehow left unpatroled in an emergency there’s always another guard not far out. We have quads, jetskis, whistle codes, and radio check systems in place and also importantly the general public who typically freak out in the case of an emergency which easily gets the guards’ attention.
I was thinking the same, all the people in the area are at greater risk, if an emergency happened right then could be very bad, I was a lifeguard and we took safety extremely serious
Most countries don’t have lifeguards stationed on the beach… you’d have to call the coast guard if someone is in trouble and hope they respond in time..

When the lifeguard needs saving bless him. I would’ve prob bawled my eyes out. Claustrophobic- would have sent me into down spiral which would lead me to anxiety to cause me to pass out. I have mad respect for beach lifeguards
