Underrated watch
Everyone wants the sub, gmt and daytona. It's too common. This is a great piece.
Totally agree! The Yacht Master deserves just as much love and desire as those other 3 models😁

100% agreed! In fact I find that true for almost all Rolex watches (and of course many other brands as well). The sunburst dial of the Yacht Master is really captivating! And I particularly love the red lollipop seconds hand😁

A very clear and informative video. There’s a 37mm Bright Blue Dial version for women as well and the slate dial Rolesium (Platinum/ 904L stainless steel) 40mm with 950 Platinum bezel, equivalent of yours. The most expensive version is the Everose Rolesor 40mm with an 18K Everose Gold bezel; and bracelet centre links with a Chocolate dial. It has a 37mm womens’ version. One of the 3 all available at 40mm doesn’t appear to have a womens’ 37mm. You could collect all 3 at 40mm. I think the 42mm Explorer II is a good watch and you could get both dial options eventually. The Hour Glass is a chain in Singapore.

This to me is the go-to everything watch you can wear this out to a beautiful dinner a wedding or a barbecue. It is so beautiful end classy but yet it looks sporty for a sporting event

This would be a great choice if you were to get only 1 Rolex😊 It is perfectly balanced between sporty and dressy so it is extremely versatile. It is also really comfortable on wrist. And lastly, the blue dial with the red seconds hand just pops and makes it such a joy to look at! Hope you get yours soon and enjoy wearing it everyday😁👍🏻

Not bad. Seems like availability for certain models is getting better. I wait listed for a datejust 41 model I’ve always wanted and I got the call from my OD after only 6 weeks. Enjoy your beautiful Yacht master .

@@time2watch-18 I went to an OD in a small town in NC thinking that they would have a shorter waiting list. I had no relationship at all their. I wanted the white faced Roman numeral., fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet. The plan worked. My regular OD in a large city where I live said it could take 8-18 months for this model. .

Thanks for the good quality shots ! Although it's been over a year, would you happen to have the weight of the watch, just out of curiosity ? I would assume the Platinum bezel doesn't add much and the rest of the watch is steel. Pt watches are super dense & heavy, usually. Take care !
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the shots😁 it’s about the same weight as a submariner so around 120-130g. The platinum does add some weight but because the thickness is only at 11.5mm and the diameter is smaller too at 40mm👍🏻 Only the bezel is platinum so yeah really doesn’t add much weight to the watch.

An understated watch that exudes class and sophistication. Unfortunately, with a 7.5 wrist, It feels and looks rather small. Excellent review! Thanks for keeping it simple and focused on the watch rather than the hypermasculine BS that others seem to focus on.

I have both watches. Both are special. If I had to choose one it would be the Bluesy. Hard to say no to a Sub. YM is a better looking fitting piece and you don’t see them around as much.

I have just picked up the rhodium from my AD, my bezel doesn’t quite align at the 12 o clock, it sits just off either side. Is yours the same or do I need to take it back for re alignment. My AD said it’s not supposed to be dead straight on the 12 but not sure. It’s my OCD! 🤣
Hi there! First off congratulations on your new Yacht Master😊 With regards to the alignment, you should take note that because the triangle/arrow is raised, it does reflect the light differently (depending on whether the lighting in your surrounding is even) and cause some optical illusion that may make it look like it is not aligned with the minute track. But I disagree with your AD, it should in fact be dead straight on the 12 which I believe it actually is. I feel you bro, I have OCD too. Been staring at it for hours and hours and finally figured out the lighting issue😊👍🏻

I am curies that the bezel on yours doesn't click and its smooth. On mine, clicks the bezel when I move it to one side or the other.
Well I do feel the 120 steps when rotating, and there are clicks just that they are very very soft😅 I’m curious to hear what yours sounds like…

I still think Rolex should offer this elegant/dressy version of the submariner in a jubilee. That beautiful combination would become an instant Rolex classic. If they can do it with the Master II GMT which I believe is more sporty than YM, they could easily give that same option to a dressier Yachtmaster. It still is beautiful on the oyster mind you 😊

It's a beautiful watch, the only reason i never bought it is the bezel. Looks great when new and on studio photos, but not so good once it scratches.
Yeah you really have to take very good care of it😅 But I guess even if it shows a few scratches, it’s just signs that you have used the watch well😊
@@time2watch-18 I'm all for scratches as it gives a lovely character for your timepice. I was going to get a yachtmaster too, but with the grey dial and baby blue seconds hand. Until i saw one on someone's hand that had a scratched up bezel, and knew straight away that my ocd wouldn't deal with it. Which is a shame as these yachtmasters are the nicest pieces in the current collection easily. So what do i do? Blue is my fav color still so looking to get a DJ41 with the azzuro blue dial. For "tool" purposes i have a seamaster 300 master coaxial with the brown strap /the non spectre edition/. The side of the case got a scratch the very first day and i didn't mind that the slightest :) I think for me, together with the no date sub they are the best tool watches. I never consider which one is better as they offer something different, so owning one doesn't make owning the other one redundant at all.
@@_-MiamiVice-_ If I may offer my humble suggestion, I think you should still get the yachtmaster at some point in time as it seems that you really love the piece! Given that you have quite a few other pieces, the yachtmaster can be your occasional dress watch so it won’t get scratched up so easily😊 As for the DJ41 with azzuro blue dial, I have that exact watch and I must say in terms of beauty, it does not lose out to the yachtmaster😍👍🏻

I think when you want two watches you just have to go through the ownership of both of them. As i'm currently in a more active phase of my life, getting the DJ41 first seems to make more sense, where i could roll in the everydays with less consideration for the piece. I might not make a bond with it who knows, and then jump on to the yachtmaster :) How is your relationship with the DJ41 do you still enjoy it as much as when you got it?

Yes it really is a pretty amazing piece😊 I would suggest getting to know a few sales advisors at different ADs in your region, choosing the one that you feel most comfortable with, and genuinely asking him/her what is takes to get this piece and what is the reasonable waiting time. Then consider whether you’re willing to fulfil those “required” steps👍🏻 Good luck!!
@@time2watch-18 i'm from Singapore too! I've yet to visit the ADs as i'm sure my chances is slim to none of ever acquiring a Rolex. I'm still not sure how or what 'steps' am i suppose to do at the ADs 😅. Currently i owned a Submariner 116610LN, Explorer 2 (Black Dial) and Tudor Harrods, and despite owning those, Yatch Master 2 blue dial has always been at the back of my mind. Maybe it's time to visit the ADs and give a shot.

Submariner is the better choice - looks more beautiful and the bezel can be used as on the yachtmaster it due to its bi directional it is not reliable
The “better choice” simply depends on which one you like more. The bi-directional bezel on the yacht-master is not meant for diving purposes, only for keeping track of elapsed time in non-underwater environments😊
