    I think you've got the right attitude with not wanting to count the drops. I believe every resin type and every pigment type and even pigments of the same brand but different colors are going to all act differently. Sometimes it just comes down to what feels and looks right to the artist. Excellent work, dear sir!

    A mere 11 months after you posted this, but I am still working my way backwards through your posts, Dan! 😊These are just lovely! The ones without the white had a good petri effect and loads of feathering! I loved the first big oval you pulled out! ❤ It seems like the ones with white had strong Petri effects and no feathering? That last heart you pulled was the one you swirled last and I noticed no blobbing except on the sides (can't think how that could be avoided!), just perfect petri effects all over! So...should one wait a few extra minutes to swirl , or...swirl sooner to possibly prevent/disturb the side-blobbing? Hmmmm. If I had opaque pigments, I would definitely try this out!
    This tutorial is wonderful, Dan! Thank you so much for your patience in making it! 😊

    This was a great tute Daniel, thank you :) But what would happen if you were to drag out the ink by using isp directly on it once you have poured it rather than mixing it in?

    • @daniel..cooper
      @daniel..cooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Penny, thank you 😊. I think the pigment would still sink as it needs to be kept at the surface. If you drop the pigment in on its own, you will see it sink fast so the alcohol would be able to mix fully to keep it afloat. Great question though 😊🙏

  • @sharonmelanson5140
    @sharonmelanson5140 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What were you looking for that made you change resins? Were you going for a thin viscosity, or thick? Were you wanting a longer cure time? The products you have in the UK are not always available elsewhere so if I understand the characteristics of the resin I may be able to find a suitable substitute that is available to me.

    • @daniel..cooper
      @daniel..cooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely needed a lower viscosity resin. I attempted with medium, the effects were still good but not quite a good enough result for a collab with Luna Designs 😊😊

  • @Gonzalez22222

    Entropy Resin’s casting epoxy is very low viscosity. It also has a very slow cure time. It’s supposed to be 24 hour to tack free at 77 degrees. I have been finding it is usually longer. How long depends on whether you are using the fast or slow hardener. I’d you look at the tech specs on their website: pot time for the fast hardener is 90 minutes and 360 minutes (yes, six hours) for the slow hardener. They advise the fast hardener for thin items and the slow hardener for thicker castings. The tack free time is 24 hours (longer in my experience) and full cure is a week.

    • @daniel..cooper
      @daniel..cooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Patricia, I used a heat mat so it totally confused the specs. This tutorial was poured and demoulded in around 9hrs, I just misjudged the timing using my heat mat. Lesson learnt 😂

    Absolutely love these. I have tried half a dozen times now to get this technique right and for the life of me I just can get the feathering no matter how much or how little alcohol I add in. I did get the ring effect but then it just ends up as flat colour much as yours did in the one you called a ribbon effect. What would cause this? Would it be the resin? So keen to do this right so any advice would be appreciated.

  • @talya.gershon
    @talya.gershon 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Daniel maybe u could try adding a lot of alcohol to the resin main cup before u split it into cups. It might save u a lot of time instead of adding alcohol to every cup separately 🤔😉

    • @daniel..cooper
      @daniel..cooper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could try but some need less or more alcohol depending on the pigment colour. I find pure needs more than yellow for example.

    Also bear in mind that the alcohol will evaporate really quickly so you might need to add extra to account for that.
