vagtsr21 ...I feel like I should point out, Ehrgeiz was created by DreamFactory and published by Square Enix, at least for the Playstation version, though they were known as just Square at the time. They allowed use of their characters to promote the game, basically. In the arcade version, only Cloud and Tifa show up. In the Playstation version, they also add Sephiroth, Yuffie, Vincent and Zack... All six of the characters being from Final Fantasy VII because that's what was popular at the time. Quick note here, there's 11 original characters, one of them being the final boss, which means a little over a third of the game's roster is just Final Fantasy VII characters. As for your actual question, it was released in 1998 in Japan for both the arcade and Playstation versions. For reference, Final Fantasy VII was released in 1997 and Kingdom Hearts was released in 2002.
