I have a ? Since at my property there is not natural gas , I will have to use propane , so I wonder what will be the consumption rate of the generator , as an example o do are bigger sizes let's say I have a 100 pounds propane cylinder , so how many hours should I spect to run it continuously

Generac provides a sizing calculator online to help estimate the cost for your home www.generac.com/for-homeowners/home-backup-power/build-your-generator It's also good to schedule an estimate with your local contractor to get specific overall cost.
So I have to give you correction in your video. If you have a 100 amp electrical service provided to the house. You can not use a 200 amp service rated transfer switch. You have to use a 100 amp transfer switch.
Because your house is set up for 100 amps so you have to protect it with a 100 amp breaker or fuse. Plus the power company is set up for only 100 amp they would have to up grade their stuff.
@@thomasmarable6818 …it’s just a transfer switch, not for circuit protection. The protection is the main switch on the panel and the fuses on the utility’s transformer.
That’s not true. The breaker provides protection for the feeders the gen is not going to produce 200A just because. It’s only going to pickup the load as it’s demanded. It’s doesn’t “force” extra power onto the system
They wanted $5400 for the generator and $8,300 to install it. 🤣 nun uh. I got plumbers to run the NG and my cousin will run the 200amp auto transfer. You got to have a plan.
I agree. Its a rip off on the install. All you need is a plumber and an electrician that knows how to install it. I would say for half that amount depending on distance from generator to meter

You can also install a 100 amp disconnect off the 100 amp meter and then install the 200 amp ATS downstream from the disconnect.
