lets gooo technique tuesday
Goin :)
Good job, Danny! This popped up on my feed today, and the odd thing is that I had just worked with two different students on this exact exercise! You explain it well-stay relaxed!
Awesome! Thanks professor!
Your smile always makes my day. And a once that's established, I lear faster, better, more. So teachers out there keep smiling.
Hahaha I’m so glad, Ill keep at it! hope you keep learning :)
is that an oud in the corner
Sure is! Not very well known 😄
I also struggle a lot with the A-C coordination! Glad I'm not the only one. In March I'm playing A Sea Symphony from Ralph Vaughan Williams as second oboist and there are some really tricky trills; such as D - Bb, Eb - B, G# - F#; these require some trill key combinations but when I get there in the music I forget them on the spot. (the first oboist and me are always sending daggers to the sheet music at these spots)
Also the B to G trill is something I struggle with, similarly to A to C. Sometimes even in slower music I notice that the coordination isn't perfect with a small transitional note in between. I really want to get a smoother and clearer technique so I'll definitely be trying this exercise out.
In other music I'm currently playing I have to do quick alternations between B and D and C and D. I'm always contemplating whether I should use the trill key and sacrifice tone for those bits or if I should study really hard to do the regular fingerings...
study hard and do the regular fingerings :) just keep grinding and eventually the muscle memory will kick in
