Grace is very exceptional and true person. I stopped listening to music the the early 90s, and when I heard Grace singing and listening to her songs, I believed again in music. She’s a real genius. That was a great interview. Thanks.
When you watch Grace during an interview you can see how intelligent this young lady is. Then while she's talking, she turns into goofy grace in a flash then back into a so insightful conversation. Between this and her voice when she sings and the way she writes. Is why I love her work.
I definitely want for Grace all the best, especially when she does whatever her way. That being said, us older ones always kinda cross our fingers that young people will make it through their teens years in one piece. Grace has expressed herself in so many ways, maybe outside of some boxes, but these interviews prove to me that she's gonna likely make it through! I love listening to her express herself, and especially love her being goofy! I was mostly intrigued by her reactions to 'IDKMN'. I believe she has stated she's autistic, high functioning, obviously, but I could relate so well. I actually cringed myself, and then couldn't hardly believe she did the same thing! It's really hard to explain. For me, it's almost as if the song is too much of a treasure to expose to sunlight. I don't listen to her music a ton because I'm afraid of wearing it out! This interview is so reminiscence of the one where she sang 'In My Blood'. The can of oats for background was so classic!
Finally, some answers on how and why Coppola cast her. Quite interesting that he called her in for a conversation and... didn't even have her audition? Well, that's how Grace was cast in Stargirl. But Coppola is a hell of a different level! Elvis shouldn't have poured water on a witch, those AGT references make me cringe every time. But I'm surprised he didn't talk about her first appearance on this show. Not with a song clip but with how impressed they were with her talent and personality that showed that early.
She deserved a ton better from Elvis. She was smart, sharp, filled with fresh info. He was formulaic, unconnected. Who was the brain who thought oh let's play her AGT refrain from 12 years ago? When she cringed, he asked her, oh, don't you like it? His sidekick gal was plugged in thank god and asked a few good ones. Elvis, why didn't you just ask her what it's like to be famous? Such a loss. He did so well with her before. Sorry Grace, You're doing well. Keep pushing through the dregs.
I think they kind of have to do it, to remind listeners and viewers of who she is, and where is she coming from. She obviously changed a lot, and many people may not recognize her or realize who she is. They can not introduce her as a new artist, either..
I t think a lot of Grace for wanting to push to do her own thing - be unique and creative. What is wrong with the entertainment industry that she isn't being recognized more?
I enjoyed seeing the movie and might see it again to take it in again to see what I missed the first time around. I think it was a bit overboard but it is his dream production and more power to him! I wish Grace would have had a larger role, but I didn't have any say-so in it, LOL. She is an excellent singer, writer and all-around artist. Love this new song!
Oh my goodness! That was such a wonderful explanation of being a child star, Ms. VanderWaal. Never heard it quite that way. Thank you.

Grace is so real and that makes her the coolest diva there is.
She sounds like shes been alive for 50 years, so wise, aware, has a grip on everything

Don't think she has ever said that she's autistic. Pretty sure the only thing she has ever mentioned having is ADHD
What a marvel this girl is.
now who can't instantly love a person with a character like Grace. true realness,
It looks like "real soon" might finally be here.

The comedic side of Grace still shines through

I love Grace, but wearing sunglasses during an interview makes it look like she's hiding.
You didn't watch it? Or you don't understand English.
Did you watch the interview? She explained why she was wearing her sunglasses
15:50 of pure entertainment.
