McDonald's prices have been increased way more than any other fast food outlet. The basic cheeseburger used to be a little more than $1, Now 2 of them are over $5. Their prices are so high that Applebee's and other restaurant chains are now a much better value. Wendy's, Carl's Jr. and Burger King are now much cheaper.

double quarter pounder meal with reg size drink and med fry......12 to 13 bucks.. Average meal is 8 to 10 bucks. Feed a family, 20 to30 bucks. It lost its value proposition years ago..oh and no in store specials anymore. All coupons must be done via their app, a barrier many don't want to go through.

But the thing is, you shouldn't need to coupon cut to get the price. That has never been McDonald's business model. The regular price at MCD is now higher than local joints in most places, and you get a better quality burger. If MCD is going to demand you jump through hoops to not get ripped off, then they are no longer the impulse food people take their kids to when they don't feel like cooking.

McDonald's isn't doing poorly, it's just that in recent history its been doing very well and now it's readjusting. It's the biggest fast food chain in the world. They're still number one. Hopefully the CEO will know how to be adaptable to the changing economic landscape. If necessary, shrink operations, take the hit. But stay alive. Depends how interested they are in doing the hard work. 🤷‍♂

The debt they make to get these things drives the prices up for those who can afford them. Leases especially rip off the consumers. Half the problem is the government, half the problem is the consumer.

That's almost a pound of fresh salmon at the grocery store. Mcdonalds already let pandora out of the box. Lost it's lower income customer base and now most people have started cooking at home and they're not going to stop. Mcdonald's sell was that it was the best cheap food you could get. Now it's no longer cheap and most of their food is bread, potato products, and sugar water. They're getting skimpier with the meat. On all fronts, Mcdonald's stock is going to continue it's current downward trajectory.
