I too am a huge Black Crowes fan, with Rich Robinson being my guitar hero. The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion is a desert island album for me! Listened to the audiobook of Steve Gorman’s “Hard To Handle” and highly recommend for any Crowes fan. Always cool when you find folks with multiple similar interests!
We have many of the Hallmark mini train ornaments, so this year we decorated our main tree with them. We usually have 3 trees, one with trains, one with nautical items, and the Main tree is antiques and specialty items.
When I started getting these lionel ornaments, I would take some paper and draw tracks the width of the wheels, and run them around with my hand. And I really do question why they say only for display when you can clearly move the wheels, the driving trucks, trucks, and be able to couple them up and run them around. If they were supposed to be JUST ornaments, the wheels and other moving parts would be molded in. Like the older models that came with string, I pulled off since I loved to push them around and see the steam locomotives driving rods move around. Especially the ones with the connecting rods to the side piston boxes.

I have 700e (the first in the series from 1996) the ATSF 2343, Chessie 2101 with tender, New York Central FT, Kansas City Southern FT, all three cars of the M10000, the mini Lionel Scout, the mini 2348 and work train, the 238E, tender, and observation, the 773's tender to go with the 700E, and the 1007 caboose

Ive got probably 15 or 20 years of these orniments. Sone years they cheaped out on production but I have to agree that this year they did a great job on them.
I collect the Hallmark Lionel Ornaments as well. It appears that I am missing a lot. The only one that I have that you seem to be missing is the UP Veranda. Have the Lionel engine as well. All I would add to the tree would be a pickle and a cardinal. They are both symbols of good luck. I like all your videos but this one is one of my favorites. Just purchased the Lackawanna E8, would like to see a review on any E8. Purchased the Lackawanna Switcher and enjoyed that video as well.

Yep I am not a fan of some of the newer trees, My Personal Christmas tree was purchased by my parents when I was -6 years old in 1977 from Simpson-Sears here in BC. The year they got matrried. I took it over in 2006 when my parents "Upgraded". My wife and I do seperate trees as we never could agree on a style of tree and this year she did her moms big 9' Pre-lit (Her mom lives in a suite in our basement but doesn't have high enough ceilings for that) in the living room and I did mine in the Master Bedroom (most years I do it in my office but this was a new house and the first house who's master bedroom had space so I tried it out there somewhat to the chagrin of my wife hehe. Also when my grandmother passed away she gave me her tree which is an IDENTICAL Tree to my tree the only difference is that hers is not missing a branch from the bottom layer like mine is and Hers lived in a house full of cigarette smoke from 1977-2000 when my grandparents quit smoking so it has a smell to it which is why I have not stolen a branch to replace my missing branch (Plus the branch missing on mine was missing since when I was about 2 so its sentimental to have it that way) also if anyone knows a good method for removing the smell from Plastic / Metal tree parts I would be glad to listen.
Have you ever been to the Sacramento ca railroad museum?? Worth the trip there. Have actual working steam engines and restoration shops, exhibitions, etc. Think you would really enjoy it!!! .
Just to let you know, I have a 1955 lionel work train that I got when I was 15 i think. I'm 75 now was thinking of trashing it unless you want it, free of charge. The old clacker sounds. Add to your collection. Just a thought!!

I have the Freedom Train Ornaments as well. I know I have the the ALCO PA A-unit and I think I have a passenger car as well. I don't if there's a B-unit that goes with it.

I have ALL of the Hallmark Lionel ornaments, I believe 24 or 25 years worth now. This years edition, it looks nice but the cheapened the quality. There are no metal trucks on the locomotive and the detail is not up to par with years past. Don’t believe me, go compare this years to the older ones and you will see what I mean. I do love the crane car though.
I have a question for you I just got my first Lionel train for Christmas and I’m using the mth big controller everytime I turn it on it starts running by itself and sometimes stops then go again
Laura, there could be any number of reasons for that, Eric has an older video that talks about running Lionel and MTH trains with the other brand controllers

I was given a box of ornaments that includes several GG1s. So you have more to get. Although I could be bribed to send you one.

You can power the Lionel big rugged diesels and those are TT scale. It takes a little modification. I have a few f3s. Merry Christmas!

I got a Lionel Postwar passenger set headed by the Santa Fe 2343 F3 with 5 Aluminum cars.
I have afew of those Hallmark Lionel ornaments like the Sante Fe F's, the N&W J, etc. Dont have that Bucyrus Erie wreck crane tho.
