    Alan has a passion for creating new dishes, helped in part by the exceptional local produce on offer throughout the seasons. From the freshest meat and fish thanks to selected local suppliers, to the finest of local produce, he plates up delights from the local area.
    Originally from Forres, Clarke forged his career path when he won the Chef’s UK Accor Challenge Award for Britain, aged only 21. He then honed his skills under Shirley Spear, the renowned previous owner of The Three Chimneys in Skye, helping them retain their 3 AA Rosettes. Since then he has been head chef at two Aberdeenshire hotels and brings 14 years of experience to his new role.
    Meldrum House is a luxury, award-winning 13th century baronial country house, set in 240 acres of stunning Aberdeenshire countryside.
    Recently included in The Sunday Times Top 100 British Hotels, there are 51 stunning bedrooms, many with views of the golf course and countryside beyond. There are two restaurants, one is casual dining in their Cave Bar and the other is Pineapple Grill and Seafood Restaurant which has been awarded two Red Rosettes. Four luxury outdoor dining domes grace their lawns where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner with stunning 360 degree views across their estate.
