    You guys inspired us to join Harvest Hosts as of this morning! We purchased our Geo Pro late February and can’t pick it up until late June, but are so excited to get out and experience all HH have to offer! We are journeying to Alaska in 3 years and saw even they have Hosts! Thanks for all the information my friends.

    Can you park your camper and go off site to explore the area or must you stay on the property? Also are there check in and out times?

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are free to roam the area. Each Harvest Hosts location may have particluar rules depending on what type of establishment you visit. It's best to check the HH website for that or call the location. It has always been a great experience for us. Thanks for watching and commenting Sarah!

    I camp in a van with latrine I set up just outside (screened) and take my waste with me to dispose of properly. Also, I cook on a camp stove just outside of the van as well. Would I be welcome at "most" Harvest Hosts?

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michael,
      I am very sure this would not be considered a self contained unit so you would not qualify for Harvest Hosts or Boondockers Welcome.

    I'm worrying that we would "have to" drink more (we do drink but life is not all about that) and wonder more about farms, museums and whatnot that participate in this program. What percentage of venues are NOT drinking establishments? I tried viewing the HH web site and you can't see the places unless you actually join. We're really considering joining. We'll use your link if we do join, but still we are worried. We're retiring and we want to travel more with our new RV and we love the idea of Harvest Hosts but we are much more interested in "other" than the drinking. I'd love an alpaca farm, for example, as I am an avid knitter. I'd love a farm with a farm store and would love to purchase produce, but the booze thing is of great concern. Museums would be super cool, but we just can't view what's out there near the places we want to go to. As everything is so "secret" and you can't preview, that seems to worry me even more.

      @RVBlogger  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Linda,
      Great question!
      Below is a breakdown of their locations.
      They don't show locations because people will show up and stay for free without being HH members. Not all hosts check.
      Wineries 552
      Farms 448
      Attractions 314
      Breweries & Distilleries 190
      Total locations 1504
      They also have the Golf Course add on package but most golf courses serve alcohol too but they are beautiful places to stay.
      We don't always drink even when we stay at wineries.
      Hope this info helps and thanks so much for using our link!!!!
      We appreciate the support! ❤️

      You will love it! We already found the concert schedule at some of our favorite vineyards and farms that are Harvest Hosts. We enjoy the show, meet lots of cool people and stay the night. And usually we are the only ones left in the parking area after the show except for folks who hang out with us for a few beers!
      We love our HH membership and hope you do too!

      Hi Brenda,
      Every Harvest Host location is different and if you ask some locations will allow outside cooking and or campfires. We always ask first though.

    Amazing video... The one with the horses I love...
    Question are you allowed to ride does it come with the package. if it does I will be happy!!
    Also your video before this one it was a chat video but for some reason I just couldn't get on to be in the chat... I could see you guys on the screen but I just couldn't get through.
    Also I could see the text on the screen of people chatting with you guys. I was sad because I couldn't get through😍😍 Well there is always another time.
    Thank's for Sharing

      @RVBlogger  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cheryl,
      The one with the horses was great! But horse riding wasn’t included at that farms but maybe another location would let you ride.. we have met some really nice owners at each location where we stayed. Sorry the LIVE didn’t work out... we had a few technical difficulties!
      Thanks for watching Cheryl!

    Saying free is misleading. It's a cheap place to park, but not free. There is a location in Georgia that requires a $30 minimum purchase. Also it's not camping, it's overnight parking. Most places don't have any hook ups. I am a member and I do recommend it to the right people, but just want you to have the correct information so you will be happy with it.

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi OA,
      Actually hosts aren't allowed to charge you to stay or require you to make a minimum purchase. Only some of the golf courses in the Golf Course Package are allowed to require you to play a round of golf or eat at the club house. This is because the golf courses are grandfathered under the underlying business agreement with the original Golf Course Membership Company prior to harvest Hosts acquiring that company. So just because one hosts is breaking the rules doesn't mean it happens often or at all in any other location. You should call Harvest Hosts and report them.
      Thanks for watching and for your comments though.
      Mike

    Are popup campers allowed?

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gordon,
      Below are the rules on the Harvest Hosts site and it appears that popup campers and hybrid travel trailers would not be allowed...However, I emailed Harvest Hosts to confirm and I will comment again when I hear back from them.
      Here are their rules...
      All Vehicles must be fully self contained: Your RV must have an interior toilet and built-in holding tanks for waste water. Porta-potties are acceptable but must be dumped off-site at an appropriate facility. The dumping of any gray water on Host properties is prohibited. You must have interior cooking facilities. Sorry, no tents of any kind allowed.
      Prohibited: Tents, campers with tent pop-outs, mini-vans, sleeping in cars or trucks.
      Thanks for watching and I'll update you when I hear back.
      Mike

      Hi Gordon,
      Here is the answer I received from Harvest Hosts:
      Mike,
      Thank you for your email and your question. We do allow pop up campers as long as they are hard sided and are otherwise self contained per our FAQs : What Type of Vehicles are Allowed
      All classes of RV’s are allowed (Class A, Class B, Class C) including Motor Coaches, Fifth Wheel Campers, Travel Trailers, Toy Haulers, Camper Vans, Truck Campers, and Schoolies. Towed Vehicles are also acceptable.

Porta-potties are acceptable but must be dumped off-site at an appropriate facility. The dumping of any gray water on Host properties is prohibited. You must have interior cooking facilities. Sorry, no tents of any kind allowed.
      Prohibited: Tents, campers with tent pop-outs, mini-vans, sleeping in cars or trucks
      I hope that helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
      Have a great week & Happy New Year!

    Watchout before you join. Harvest hosts business model is autorenew with no way to opt out on their website or in your account page. Very deceptive I wonder if it is even legal

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jerry,
      I think you are mistaken. I just logged on and in the top right corner clicked on my name and then clicked on Manage Membership in the drop down menu. This took me to a page where I could Cancel My Membership.
      I found all of this on the first try. It was easy and straight forward.
      We only recommend services we use ourselves and we know the folks at Harvest Hosts. They aren't trying to get over on anyone and prevent them from cancelling if they want to.
      Check it out and let me know what you find.
      Thanks,
      Mike
