From the diary entries I have read and listened to, Yeosang’s father owned the warehouse they were practicing and hanging out in. He learned this and decided to sell it because it didn’t fit with the plans he had for Yeosang. When they found out Mingi (having just lost his grandmother and only family he had left) made a comment of how nothing last anyways and they were foolish to think this would. That made JongHo mad and that is why he fought with Mingi.
They all decided to go their separate ways. Hongjoong had a dream where a man in a black mask gave him the cromer. The cromer has the ability to jump dimensions during certain moon phases. It also has the ability to teleport you as well within your own dimension.
The rest of the members had also dreamed of the men in the black mask asking for Ateez’s help. This is where it begins in World A. Halateez (the Black Pirates) are from World Z.
Also, this is all based on the lore and actually doesn’t reflect their own personal lives. It’s all a story. But an awesome one.

I think no one has mentioned in here yet, but this diary is also directly connected to the 'Not Okay' MV, here you got desglosed the traumas of the boys.

The guys are Just normal Boys with problems and that and the moment they were going to get separated, Halateez (Who were aborto to be imprisioned and need them to keep the black pirates against stricland's goverment) gave the Chromer to the captain and they went to World Z, I think... Thats What I understood 😅

Sooo its both i think (but im not 100% sure so dont quote me on that) in the start of all of their stories they show their struggles but then they found each other, started to make music in the warehouse and have fun but something happened with mingi and jongho. I dont remember if jongho was the one who started to fight or mingi and they part ways. Hongjoong stayed in the warehouse alone and then halateez hongjoong came to him and gave him the cromer. He then wrote messeges to all of them (in the video you can see couple of them getting messeges on their phones) and they came back to him to see what happened. This is basically all that happened. Once again i dont know all of the lore and i have limited english skills to convey everything the way i want to and didnt touch on they individual stories soo you can find on youtube videos of their diaries from albums they explain everything very good and keep in mind that this is connected to not okay mv they have their individual stories from this video there like freedom stage fright losing family being alone itp so later you can rewatch this mv and notice things that have similiar things and its really fun to see you enjoying them!! 😄
