We stayed here two years ago in June. The food was awesome. The accomodations are awesome. People at the resort are very friendly and helpful.We toured the rain forest, swam in a water fall pool, and took a catamarand sunset sail. We lounged at the pools and on the beach. It was beautiful. I would LOVE to go back soon! We stayed at the RIU in Purto Vallarta also. The hotels are awesome! Both times they were at full capacity and everything was wonderful. I highly recommend these resorts.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to go scuba diving but watching this i'm excited for it. This have been the best video I seen for this hotel.

It was a nice distraction at night. Don't forget to check out Coco Beach via the water taxi. I flew in from L.A. so I have a suggestion: bring in duty free cigarettes and liquor. The hard liquor in C.R. isn't that great and the cigarettes are from Brazil and kinda expensive. Enjoy Costa Rica. Pura Vida!!!

Great video Mike! Shay I have been to a few different resorts and the nightlife at the Riu was the worst out of all of the trips I have taken so far. Nice resort as Mike shares but I don't think you will have fun as a younger person looking for nightlife. Maybe try exploring the night life off the resort. I was all over Costa Rica on my 10 day trip there and lots to see and do. Also felt very safe day and night. Only thing I would avoid is the casino tables if you enjoy gambling. They cheat and saw it happen multiple times. I would recommend the excursion to Nicaragua. Its a full day but worth your time. Have a good trip and enjoy yourself, Matt
@@MikeWilley I'm going this Easter weekend... April 11-16. I called and found out that I have a room with 2 king beds and a pull out sofa. There are 2 different family rooms, it's quite confusing because they're both called family rooms. I am working to get the room that has the 2 separate bedrooms inside... can't wait to go! Coronavirus isn't gonna stop us!
@@MikeWilley we made the best of our stay. I’m sure it would have been better if it wasn’t for COVID. Just be warned the food was plenty but not very good. Very bland, plenty of rotisserie type chicken and pork. Beef was very low quality and quite tough. No mangoes or bacon in the morning. They didn’t have the usual triangle breakfast hash browns either. The staff was good and the lines weren’t too bad when we went.

I guess it depends on your definition of “hot”. A guy from the mid-Atlantic a United States, it was perfect. Not to hot and not too cold. In the mountains it was a little chilly due to all the rain. Thanks for watching.
I went with my family late October 2018 by far one of the best holidays I’ve been on and I’ve been all around the world the only down side for me was at the weekend the hotel is open for paying locals and there greed ruined it for me but next time I won’t pick a Costa Rican bank holiday
Hi Mike if you booked all inclusive what no is telling us. The food at the hotel is free and is thr food 24 hours a day also please this is my second question is that is the restraunts free too or do you have to pay seprate for those restraunts. What is the best thing to do in coata Rica and do they have any meditation place thank yoi so mich great video
Thanks for the kind words Sharon. All the food is included but is not available 24 hours. When the main buffet closes there’s not much available in the way of food. Drinks are also included. You need to make reservations for the speciality restaurants but they are also included.
when you go you have to walk to the monkey bar turn left at the beach and just walk for a while you will run right into it!! that's where all the monkeys are along with a pretty cool bar
Sadly, everything I've heard about Costa Rica is that Costa Ricans are nice to Americans but always consider them Gringos & never really accept Americans, just their money. I have no intention of visiting Costa Rica. Austria is where I'll go to visit & spend my money.
Lets be honest though, think about it, is there a country that really accepts Americans except for maybe the UK? Most of it is about the money. Some countries mask it better than others but it usually comes down to the dollar. Austria is on my bucket list for sure. Thanks for contributing and watching.

Stayed there in 2017 and it was amazing. The annoying part was getting to buy stuff from the vendors in the beach after saying no for the 10th time

I’m sorry but I don’t recall rather there was a spa. The pool is 4’ deep but there are a few areas for the kids that are shallower.

It’s a pretty big resort and was pretty quiet while we were there. It’s truly beautiful (minus the smell of the “irrigation”). Thanks for the comment.
