The Video of this is from Wimbledon Stadium, London. The band rented the Stadium and Dozens of Bikes. 65 Professional Models Raced Around Wimbledon Stark Ass Nude. Once the Rental Company became aware of how there bikes were used they made the Band buy all the seats. 😂🤣😜
Nobody can touch Queen's greatness. Such versatility, skills, talent, etc all rolled into this four-piece band. Definitely, out of this world! This song I heard is slightly influenced by Freddie's childhood boarding school days when he would cycle with his friends in India. I like how it talks about riding and having fun instead of being involved in all the politics and other distractions constantly coming in the way.
Freddie was such a great showman. R.I.P. Freddie.

Another very underrated Queen song is "Princes of the Universe", written for the original Highlander movie in the 80's.
This is from the album Jazz, as well as Fat Bottomed Girls, (the songs refer to each other). The LP album had a fold out poster of a bunch of naked women on bicycles enclosed! Fun song, great reaction as always!
in the video Queen had many naked women riding bicycles and when the company that rented them the bikes found out-they charged them with replacing all the seats LOL
"Bicycle 🚲Race" was filmed at Wimbledon Stadium in south London. It featured 65 naked female professional models racing around the stadium's track on bicycles that had been rented for the film shoot. When the rental company found out how the bikes had been used, it reportedly demanded payment to replace all the bicycle seats. 🤭

There was a very slight double entendre in this song. Y'all got it fine, I think. I still sing it and remember how poor Freddie died riding his bike without a coat where he liked. Pump those pedals but stay safe guys, wear the right gear.
This song shows that Queen never took themselves seriously. They would sing about anything and make it sound amazing. BJ's not off on the video. haha

Not one of Freddie's masterpieces, but it's a really fun and clever song from him. (And not a song anyone could do.) He was supposed to be inspired to write it when in France and the Tour De France bicycle race passed wherever he was staying. On another topic, it would be amazing if you'd do their 20 minute set at Live Aid. It's amazing, especially if you read up a little on the background of the concert. (Heck, even just the Wikipedia entry.)

Freddie was arguably top 5 musical performers, in any genre, to ever take the stage. Great channel..... repeat offender....btw.... since I grew up in the 70s here a lil fact for ya....Brian May (Lead Guitarist) his Father took a chainsaw to the fireplace mantle and made his guitar from it, thus giving it that very distinct sound.
Brian's song Too Much Love Will Kill You is one of my favorites! Big impact on me in high school.
Only the neck of Brian's guitar ( The Red Special) was made from the 100-year-old fireplace surround. The body was made from blockboard (strips of softwood sandwiched between two plywood skins) with oak inserts in the top and bottom layers sourced from an old table. It was covered with mahogany marquetry veneer on the top, bottom, and side to give it the appearance of a solid-body guitar.
I always have to add that the whammy bar is one of his Mom’s knitting needles.

They were recording in France and Freddie became intrigued by the Tour de France. And somehow Brian made his guitar solo sound like a bicycle race. Usually paired with Fat Bottom Girls. Maybe check out what they did for the video.

I love all your videos - especially Queen - who I've just come back to listening to recently through these reaction videos. I think this song is Queen saying - we are so good, so tight as a band, so at the top of our game that we can make this little nonsense ditty and even that is brilliant. I used to sing jazz and my pianist was the pianist for the Duke Ellington Orchestra (he is now the band leader last I heard) and I know exactly what he'd say about this song. He'd say - "these cats are just having fun, and showing you their skills while they at it.." All great artists are able to channel the divine through them and project it out to the world and whenever I watch these guys - I know that's what I'm hearing and seeing. Also Asia I love your hair - really beautiful on you.

It's a song about freedom to go where you like. Freddie loved his fans, but obviously he really couldn't go anywhere without being noticed, Freddie once said, sometimes I wish I wasn't Freddie Mercury. Not one of my favorites, but it's fun.
Being young(10) when this came out,this was definitely my song to ride my bicycle(which I did everyday) I had my 1977 Schwinn Stingray with the banana seat.I loved it and definitely wished I still had it,lol..I could never get on my bike and not start off singing this song😊 Keep On Rockin'

P.S. "Fat Bottomed Girls" was on the flip side of this song on the 45 record. Since both were hits singles they called it a Double "A" sided record.

As a kid, a bike meant freedom, it meant being able to go places that you probably wouldn’t walk to, it meant gathering your friends and hitting the streets. Until someone was old enough to drive, it was how we got around.

This song reminds me of a vocal warm up. I wonder if Freddie ever warmed up with this? At least the main part.
When I was a teenager the explanation of this song going around was that it had nothing to do with bicycles. It was a metaphor for sexuality. BI-cycle. Based on the idea that Freddy was bisexual and the verses seem to make more sense in that context. The whole thing made a ton of sense to me at the time, but over the years many people have called it inaccurate and even silly. However, every time I hear it, that's the only context I get.
People also put things into lyrics they want the hear. Sometimes it's just words that sound good to the lyricist.

Walmart bikes are a throw away. Will barely last a summer. My bike ran about $3000. Have over 20,000 miles on it. Just regular maintenance like tires, handle bar tape, and chain will be worth the dollars spent. Plus you spend that type of money it won’t sit in the garage.
You should review the Queen song "I'm In Love With My Car" Lead Vocals by Queen Drummer Roger Taylor. Its rare a Queen song where Freddie doesn't sing lead vocals

Oh, you finally reacted to the second of the twin songs: Fat Bottomed Girls and Bicycle Race. LOL. In many countries the video for Bicycle Race was banned. Why? Cause Queen got about 20 or thirty female models... NUDE... and had them riding their bikes naked. It caused a heap of publicity, not the mention all the stories about the making of the video and recording of the song. Fantastic! Cheers.
