10 months before expiring, and it contains fragrance? Easy pass for me. I love the DRMTLGY sunscreens, so I’ll continue to stick to them. Thanks for the review.
My new favorite sunscreen is the Isntree Hylauronic Acid Watery Sun Gel. It makes my skin look plump and dewy and doesn’t irritate my 7 y.o.’s skin. And it does have Tinasorb in it, so I am excited about that as well.
@@cadylynnoregel1451 I was just joking about how ridiculously in love I am with this product. I have dry skin, and my daughter has normal skin, and it works beautifully on both of us. I hope you like it too!
I absolutely LOVE that Dr. Jartt BB cream (which is 40 spf). I have been wearing it for probably 8? Years or so. Sephora wanted to be sure I knew how to put it on so gave me a lesson when I bought it. It involves pressing it in and uses more product. About 2 years in to wearing it daily people started asking me what my skincare routine was and what I was using ( which at that time was SPF and Dr Jartt!! ) sadly since March 2020 I stopped using the BB cream….. (but now I use all sorts of serums, etc with my SPF).
I finish 2 tubes in a month, so the expiration date is not a problem for me. Yes it's SPF 50 but I couldn't find anything in the FDA report about specific UVA protection. I like this new camera, doesn't look like it has a filter but seems a bit blurred?? It improves when you come closer to the mirror and the bathroom light is slightly behind you.
Despite this he review, I’m actually very excited to use it. I actually like the scent but I also don’t have sensitive skin so I’m not worried. The only thing is the pilling I’ve been hearing about
Think I’ll pass on this one, I’ve never been a huge fan of this brand. I’ve also been noticing my skin being more and more irritated lately with niacinamide because it’s literally in everything now. I can handle one product with a lower percentage in it but when I start layering things that have it too, that’s when I notice irritation. Kind of annoying it’s in so much now.
So sorry to hear about your sensitivities to Niacinamide, you are so right, every brand seems to be throwing tired ingredient into everything lately. I wonder why, seems to be a trend.
The price is insane for the amount! If it was like 3oz ok still a bit pricey but I'd definitely give it a shot! But for how small a amount for that price they can keep it!
I agree about the price. I did the maths, if you apply 1/4 of a teaspoon you'll get roughly 34 applications...that is just over a month use from one bottle. I can't afford $34 almost every month on sunscreen. Especially when there are other lovely sunscreens at a much lower price.
@@mimistar1427 I absolutely agree that's why I'm not spending my money on it! I use a lot of sunscreen because it's common sense to do so. And as much as I use on my face and my neck this would not last me even a month! I use other sunscreens on my body but for my face and my neck this would not last me long enough to justify the price, I'm really surprised that people actually spend their money on this. Glow recipe was a nice thought that you would think that when they became as big as they did they would try to be so bougie, they're trying to put their self up there with very expensive lines with a lot of clinical research to back up their price tags glow recipe is not there!
I have oily skin and wow, I found this to be SO heavy feeling and shiny. It smells like sunscreen to me, I can't smell any watermelon. I had to return it. Guess I'm spoiled by Japanese sunscreens.
I cannot imagine using this for very oily skin. I don't mind a bit of shine, but for others it definitely could be too much. I'm wondering if the new Tatcha sunscreen will be better. Cannot wait to try that one out!
Should be 1-2 years imo for expiration date … didn’t pick it up as not a big Glow Recipe fan - the fragrance is a negative for me … I did pick up the new Tatcha Silk Suncreen … I can’t wait to get and try it. Are you planning on picking that one up?
I laughed out loud at the foundation bit. Appreciate you getting right into it. I like to know if there are any issues with a sunscreen where it really takes time to set before putting makeup on, if so I'm less likely to use it. I got places to be and need to roll through my morning routine quickly some days.
Mine just came in yesterday, but I waited until today to wear it since it was delivered around sunset. Anyway, I saw the expiration date on mine and wondered why it expires so early too. I wonder if they had issues with production and had to have some of their early batches sitting in storage while they produced enough of them. As far as the product itself, I’m wearing it right now. And I’m SUPER sensitive around my eyes. But I gotta say, it wasn’t bad. It only very, very slightly bothered my eyes, but it might not have even been the sunscreen. It could have been the vitamin c I’m wearing under it. One thing I noticed right away, and I made sure to put a hell of a lot on, was how quickly it blended in with no white cast whatsoever. My skintone is probably a light olive (or “beige”), and my hair is very dark so anything that leaves a slight white cast will show up. But this left nothing, so I was happy to see that. My two gripes were the scent (but it dissipated quickly, like you said) and it seemed to dry really fast, almost turning powdery on my skin in certain areas, but I irritated my skin shaving the day before last. And it tends to get dehydrated quickly, so maybe that was why. I’ll have to try it for a few more days to really see.
I'm guessing then all of their sunscreens must expire about the same time. So strange, I might email them and see what they say about it. Keep me posted on how you end up liking it.
SPF 50 fine...any idea on the PA rating though..? The rating on the rays that cause UVA damage. Is it mentioned on the box? I hope its ++++. I just ordered mine, it was a blind purchase. God knows i ain't got good feelings abt it after watching your review.
I was really disappointed with this. I also ordered it the day of release and noticed the expiration date immediately. Not that a sunscreen would last me but still, great minds think alike! The scent was more mild than I anticipated but I’m somewhat sensitive to niacinamide and this burned beyond I could handle so i returned it today. I was able to buy some groceries for the price, I’ll stick to my black girl sunscreen kids for winter time.
You know, the more I use it the last few years, the more I realise I’m probably slightly sensitive to Niacinamide too. Mine stung slightly within the first 10 or so minutes, but it went away. Except, my skin is still healing from when I irritated it shaving the day before last, so I blamed it on that. I probably need to stop lying to myself and accept it’s the Niacinamide lol
Niacinamide is showing up in everything these days. I feel for you being sensitive to it, I think it's going to overtake Hyaluronic Acid as the most popular ingredient this year.
Hopefully this link will work, really love this setting powder, so nice for drier skin. Also works well in the summer, mattifies skin a bit without drying it out or creating flakey patches. It's here: Jouer Soft Focus Set & Refresh Hydrating Powder in the shade called Light: fxo.co/D7xY
Why do they need to put niacinamide in everything? They need to pick some new star ingredients. And that's wild that a brand new product has that soon of an expiration date!! The purito sunscreen that didn't have enough filters, which I got two years ago(I use it just as a moisturizer- also shows how slowly I use things) has an expiration date of 8.14.2023! What's glow recipe up to 🤔
I got this the second day it came out so I’ve only worn it twice, but one thing I’m confused about is feels like tingly as if there were mint or something in it but only around my eyes? It’s baffling to me. But I really wanted to love this stuff and I have dry skin so I do appreciate the moisturizing aspect but it’s a little too shiny for me. Also the first day I wore it over vanicream moisturizer (boring I know but it’s prescribed by derm) and it was pilling like crazy I almost returned it. But it’s not bad I just don’t think I’ll be rebuying for $34😔
I think I’m going to return this one. I’ve tried it twice, and it pilled. All I put on before it was the Paula’s Choice Defense Antioxidant serum. I’m not impressed with it on my oily skin. It’s just not very special, considering the pilling and the expiration date.
That expiry date is unacceptable. For a similar sunscreen, you may as well just get 2-3 tubes of a Korean or Japanese sunscreen. It’s a pass for me. That and the scent 😑
I have a question how the red like pimples(that are not really pimples because they are like underneath the skin) are called? I can not get rid of them I mean they only go away when my dermatologist uses the laser on me but they come back in less than one month perhaps you know why is that? I use niacinamida every day in my routine but nothing
