This was my childhood amusement park and the nostalgia from this video is real. I haven't been back in quite a few years, but the park really does still look great: I like what they did with the Swamp Thing queue line.

Not going to lie I’m from Valdosta and I’ve been going to this park since i young and I’m glad to see a lot of rides are still functioning, but the park really needs a huge upgrade
Yeah, I wish they’d replace Cheetah now that they’ve officially closed it. 😭

Me too I go here every year except for last year we went to Panama City Beach because all the pandemic and new rules at wild adventures

Island Falls is good at #6, but that is my favorite ride at the park hands down.

I remember the firecracker. The first time i rode that I was 9 and it was with my friend, once we dropped it felt like gravity switched off

Wow! Really cool to see a video of my hometown theme park. Much as I love my town of Valdosta and Wild Adventures, they really need something to make them stand out more. I get the animals is a huge plus, but many of the rides are dated. There used to be theming in the park, but no longer. A good family park, but it could be a lot better.
I hope to back there soon and I typically get to talk to a lot of the administration while I’m there. Any suggestions that I can let them know about?
@@ThemeParkGroupie As a consumer, I really miss the theming. Back in the early 2000s, there were adequate theming and sections of the park. Now, it just seems like a random collection of rides. Save the Cheetah if that is possible, even a RMC would be an excellent idea. Lastly, I understand that the common draw is a family park, but I strongly believe the park would be better if there were more thrill rides.
Interesting. 🤔 I’ll try to bring that up next time I’m there. I agree about the thrill rides. A lot of people were hoping they’d turn Cheetah into a hybrid or something. I think a lot of it has to do with money too. 🤷♂️
whoever is going here this place is awesome it might be the best roller coasters ever I loved and it was where I did my first upside down roller coaster I reccomand going here

Underrated opinion: Swamp thing is the GOAT. It’s a short but sweet ride and the waits aren’t usually that long

The tasmanian river rapids is still my favorite for some reason. once I went with my family and no one would get in line so the operator let us go like 4 or 5 times before we got off it was cool

okay but Cheetah hurts, I went on that one and I got an immediate headache from how rough if was, my dad is a roller coaster lover too and he HATED that one

@@ThemeParkGroupie surprisingly pretty good! the only ride at wild adventures I personally didn’t like was the rattler. It felt like I was about to go uprise down.

this place is so fun! i went here for a school field trip which was super crazy! my school is in florida so we had to drive 4 and a half hours there and back, but it was totally worth it!

your video is better than what they have on the park's own web page. seems like they could do better. Maybe a few 360 vids of the bigger attractions. anyway, great vid.

@@ThemeParkGroupie you could probably make money on that just filming things for others. ;) it does enhance so much to be able to look around. I'm mid 50s now so many of these fast and jerky rides this is the only way I can "ride" them. :( anyway, hope you get one.

I goto this park a couple times a month, and my favorite rides are the side winder, or rattlesnake whatever it's called, and the Pharaoh, but they removed it :(
The rollercoasters are alright, but very shaky, if you have glasses I'd recommend taking them off because I've lost mine before plus my phone
Ah, that stinks. 😕 I’ve lost several things over the years at theme parks. 😅😅 I never seem to learn my lesson...

I do recommend going the go Banana ride on it there a part where it stops and because of that my chest got hit and bruised for a month

I would make 1 substitution. Blazer Blast Off should not be in the top 10. I would replace it with the Rattler at #4. Otherwise, pretty flawless top 10. Although Island Falls is my absolute FAVORITE ride at the park. The splash is the most unbelievable soaking you'll get on ANY water ride ANYWHERE. Unparalleled and thorough soaking.
For real! The water just clears over your head and it’s like you get soaked in slow motion. I love it. 🤣

I would guess that the animals are the main draw for this park. When an SLC rates as the Number1 Coaster, you need to add something ASAP. Especially with the new Fun Spot opening a new big coaster.
Yeah, I think it is. They keep adding additional, smaller exhibits. Seems like that’s what they prefer to focus on.

When did they bring back the rapids ride? I remember they had one in the late 90's, but the last times we visited (2016-8), there was no rapids ride at all. If they brought it back, that's great news! Planning on spending a couple days there very soon. Without a friggin mask of course. Never played that silly game. Wild Adventures is exactly 5hrs from exit to exit from my place in Naples Florida. Got it timed to a tee. 👍
Oh sweet! Yeah, I just started going back in ‘18 for the first time. Maybe they had it down the last time you came. It’s been open pretty much every time I’ve gone. 😁
@@ThemeParkGroupie, I don't recall it being there in 18, and that was the last year we were there. My daughter basically got screwed out of vacation in 2019 due to her mother having her gallbladder removed with complications, and last year due to the coof. But we plan on leaving on July 12th from Naples. 5hrs exit to exit. We'll spend Sunday and Monday there. Tues head to Marianna to see the caverns, then up to Ky to the Ark Encounter. Trying to cover as much ground as possible in a week.

Not sure the age of each attraction, but the park is definitely safe. They closed down their wooden coaster for good recently. That would be the only one to worry about. 🤣
In 25 years, they've never had a death in the park, so it's pretty safe
Hmm just heard the news that Cheetah (#3 here) will be retired... Who knows? If they let RMC convert Cheetah into a Hybrid like they’re doing with Gwazi into Iron Gwazi, it might even beat Twisted Typhoon for number one coaster at the park!

I went here on the hottest day of the year for some reason and the only place serving water was a Starbucks, they gave me a cold glass of it for free and I passed out at the table. also my nintendo ds and wallet got stolen from the Tasmanian River Rapids

That's are the top rides??? It's kinda underwhelming honestly I'm from Ohio and moved to Georgia we have way better rides and more from 2 top amusement parks
It’s definitely a smaller park, but it’s fun and worth the smaller price tag.
