**A Whisk(e)y school?
Yup. Here are a few things we believe.
** You don’t have to be a snob to appreciate and love great whiskey.
Whisky and Whiskey (it depends on where it’s from) have been an important part of cultures around the world from time immemorial. Whiskey is a part of the very fabric of Western society, and in most places, is as common and accessible as beer.
Like Jazz and wine, snobs have predictably hijacked whiskey appreciation, spoiling our natural, common connection with it and creating a false dichotomy of “good whiskey” and “bad whiskey.”
It’s time to break through the emotional bias with facts and science. That’s what this school is about.
** The only valid definition of “good” whiskey is “whiskey you like to drink.”
Learning how to share your love of whiskey in a way that connects people to the history and the story has more to do with public speaking and storytelling than it does with facts and tests.
The best way to learn about whiskey and share that love is to drink whiskey and talk about it with friends. Study the history, find the stories, and discover the culture and the methods that have been developed over hundreds of years. That’s what you’ll do when you attend The Whisk(e)y Marketing School.

Last week I bought my first bottle of whisky (Glenfiddich 12) because of you guys! I’m loving every sip of it and I want to thank you so much for having me introduced to this awesome experience , I had always thought whiskies were something made just for despicable elderly grandpas, now I know how wrong was I.

Somehow Rex managed to mooch 14 months and still call it Rex Month.
I wasn't aware there were enough Macallan M bottles for an entire Rex Month.
One of THE best episodes, I sat crying of laughter for an eternity, GOSH, the bottle opening sound spamming at the end made this Diamond Status.
I'm hyped for basically two months of rex-mas.

Being a broke college student means I can only really afford another new bottle about as often as I finish the previous one, but I enjoy savoring whiskey more than I do chugging vodkas and spiced rums for the sake of drunken debauchery(not that I don't enjoy drunken debauchery). So Rex has gone from master mooch to mooching 7oz of whiskey in one whisky tasting to mooching a months worth of all of his favourite whiskeys!!! I bow to the Master Mooch. I also have a question do you guys keep the boxes the whiskey comes in ? Since watching you guys my collection has rapidly expanded and I know have:

Throw the boxes away ones opened. I'm 4 years late. So I guess you figured it out..
Also if I pour myself a glas off scotch it's like 5cl. So thas 14 scotches out a bottle off 70 CL here in Belgium. Don' care that it's 40 euro or 150 or 250 euro stuff. I want my 5cl.

Guys after re-watching some videos, the crowd sourced best introduction whiskey and the best bang for your buck, I decided to go for a bottle of Highland Park and omg I was not disappointed. Great suggestion I'm proud to be one of your people. I'm just enjoying a sneaky dram before bed.
So, I've been getting into Whisky recently, and have several bottles at home (mixture of 2 American, 2 Japanese, 1 Irish and 1 Scottish). How do you get used to the alcohol burn? That's the main thing that's preventing me from enjoying the Whisky. I don't get any of the after tastes that you guys describe, just the burning of alcohol on the tongue. I'm not a heavy drinker, so I was wondering if there was a trick or shortcut to get used to the burn.
It's not something you can switch off, it just takes time for you brain to quit recognizing the dominate alcohol burn. At some point, it will switch off, and you'll start finding things behind it.
Could you guys discuss sometime "Whisk(e)y stones" and using different ones? Stainless, actual stone, and even the 'ice sphere' craze. Oh and the Whiskey aging sticks (basically charred sticks to put in whiskey) and what they actually do, or if they do anything.
Dear Rex and Daniel, I finally got a hold of the Wyoming bourbon, and it is very interesting. The leading taste is overly ripe banana that fades into black licorice, which I'm not a huge fan of--I thought was more of a rye thing. But as I sit with it, I'm getting some eucalyptus and, most interestingly, several second after I swallow, I'm getting light-roast black coffee. I'm generally a scotch guy, but this is a totally different experience. Would never have found this whiskey if it weren't for you guys. Thanks for the in-depth reviews and impeccable professionalism on the channel. Cheers!

Have you heard of a program that Angel's Envy did where they let liquor store owners create their own barrel blend? They have since stopped the program but my local store got the chance to make a barrel. They sent him samples of three barrels an he got to choose the percentage of each one that went in to his barrel an he was able to name his blend also.
That is awesome! We need to do this with the new distillery.
We actually managed to get a bottle of the blend. We haven't tried it yet. Will let you know when we do. 😊
This is my favorite ending to any TH-cam video that I have watched. Much like one of your whiskey reviews this video had a sweet start with a lingering hint of awkward discomfort. Then just when you started to get bored it punched you in the face with spiky notes.

I find it to be a fair bit more intense than the 10, but still darkly beautiful. Any chance we could get a review for the An Oa? I agree...the An Oa is more dramatic then the Ten...i get a strong peppery colder smoke vibe then from any other Ardbeg.

I've got a bottle of Teachers from about 15 years ago in the collection. It is absolutely beautiful. Made mostly at Ardmore Distillery.
For its price (cheap) it's outstanding. I will be definitely buying a replacement when it's 'bottled down'.

I'm having some cruach mhona right now and it looks nothing like the one in this review! The color is waaaay lighter in mine. It doesn't look like the same whisky. They must have changed it a lot over the years.

Daniel in an earlier episode involving a Rye you referenced the Monongahela River. Your pronouncing was very close and I would accept it. This one really opens up for me after 10-15 minutes in the glass with 4 or 5 drops of water, more of the creamy almost Worther's Original comes out.
