Wow. I am impressed with the use of hollow core fibers. Normal glass fibers only transmit with roughly 66% (refractive index 1.5) speed of light in vacuum, but hollow fibers can reach 95% (refractive index 1.05). Across the Atlantic (e.g. Berlin- San Francisco) that can save about 30ms roundtrip!
