The Pontiac Fiero competed with the Toyota MR2. The original MR2 was squared off, but the 2nd generation MR2 looks like it took cues from the Fastback Fiero GT. The 2020 and 2021 Corvette C8 have a similar mid-engine layout and the front trunk and rear trunk are in close to the same location.

It was amazing being there for the 40th Celebration! Thank you to all the people who worked so hard to make this week of events a reality. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones!

Seeing this feels somewhat surreal. My father worked at the Fiero plant; its demise forced an early retirement, though I doubt he was unhappy about that at the time. Having grown up in Pontiac, it's neat watching the festivities taking place in my old hometown. I had hoped to make it to some of the celebration, but just couldn't find the time. Thanks for sharing!

It was great to be there. Mine is the red notchback that is second from the front in the far right column from the drones perspective. I drove all the way from New Brunswick Canada, on a three week vacation that racked up 5000km.

Thanks for coming! It was great hanging out with the Canadian Fiero enthusiasts along with everyone else who enjoys GM’s little mid-engine car. It was great seeing everyone help out the couple from Manitoba who had the dog-bone bracket break on their 3800sc engine. The whole community came together to help out and in a few hours the bracket was welded and fixed so they could make the 19hr drive home. It was great seeing everyone at the Fiero 40th.

@@superchargedfierogt yeah, it was great, one of the cars about 20 feet away from mine had a dead battery when they got back, and in like 5 minutes there were about 10 people offering all the different ways to start the car, push starting it, jumper cables, using one of those little jump starter batteries, and anything else you could imagine.

Loved both my 861/2 fiero gt and my 85 2m6 se. Maybe a better clutch could have saved the brand.
