Dennis, you know how much I like the Gomexus power knobs. I’ve never used an entire handle assembly mostly because Gomexus doesn’t make them for my vintage reels. The only one I even tried was one of my Penn SS reels but Gomexus told me it would not work. I’m just sticking with the power knobs. I’ve lost count of how many I have done but I always retain an original handle for those reels I convert. Most have been the big saltwater Mitchell reels that still had the pointed torpedo handles like the 302N or 386. You did a superb job on this International! At my age I’ll probably never get to use a reel like this again but it is great to see this one and remember when. - Chris
Love the Gomexus replacement handles, have them on all my Abu's. However they do send you extra washers for the handles and I think it confuses guys if they haven't installed them before. I did the same thing Chris did and had to replace a main shaft on my 6601 before I figured out that I didn't need their extra washer.

Thanks Chris - You should be a Gomexus sales rep! I know how much you like them

Good to know! Thanks for the clarification - Dennis
Would a worn or missing friction ring on the shimano stradics explain a reverse movement on the rotor after casting? I appreciate your channel
If it is minimal. If there is a lot of reverse, it could and probably is the anti-reverse clutch that is causing the slip - Dennis
Hi Dennis , I was unable to remove my ring gear and noticed you struggled too. How were you able to persuade it ?
I'm not sure what you are calling the ring gear. Can you give me the time in the video where it is shown? Thank you - Dennis
7:50 . I didn't want to pry too hard on the gear , it's stuck on pretty good.
nice reel, of course, for the reels made by Shimano, they all are nice
Yes they are! - Shimano makes a quality product
