    Thank you Robin - between you an Donnie this is great information for a genealogist.
    I could say lots about the graves in this cemetery but let me just comment on Conrad Sharp at time stamp 30:02 (4thGGF)
    a couple of stanzas from "Forty Years Ago Now And Then" written by Martin Dell Rice to Childhood Friend, William Sharp regarding Lost Creek Cemetery - (prior to 1877)
    They all are dead and in their graves,
    One after one they died;
    Far, far apart some of them sleep,
    And some lie side by side;
    Two thousand miles and more away
    Some sleep in graves unknown,
    While I, with locks now thin and gray,
    Am left alone - alone!
    There side by side, my kindred lie -
    Your kindred lie there too -
    I saw your father’s grave, dear Bill,
    And well that grave I knew.
    The plain head-stone is standing yet -
    A limestone large, you know -
    I saw it placed above that grave,
    O’er forty years ago.

    Hi Robin I've come over and am watching your videos and I'm a new subscriber because of Donnie. I've been faithfully following him for over a year now. I think it's great that you go to all these cemeteries to help people doing their genealogy that can't make it there in person. A little cemetery history related terms you've probably heard: "dead ringer"and "graveyard shift" comes from the fact that in the old days they would sometimes tie a string to deceased persons leg or hand and have it attached to a bell above ground. If the person woke up the bell would ring and they would hire a person to be there and listen for the bell and dig the person up. But frankly if I woke up buried alive they wouldn't have to worry because I'd probably have a heart attack!

      Thank you for subscribing! Yes I’ve heard those terms also and believe me I would probably do the same! Wouldn’t that be horrifying? ❤️

    One more comment for you :)
    At time 30:42 -
    First born of George and Tabitha Snodderly was Jacob Snodderly. Jacob married Quintina Arminda Lett abt 1829. On June 25, 1852 Quintina Arminda Snodderly died on the Oregon Trail, Natrona County, Wyoming. The Oregon-California Trails Association has a memorial at that site.
    The Mother of George Snodderly was Elizabeth (Gibbs) Snodderly, the first daughter of Nicholas Gibbs and Mary Efland.
    THE STORY OF THE FAMILY OAK.
    This gigantic oak-tree grew and is still growing in Union County, Tennessee, on the farm that was opened and occupied, about the year 1818, by Arthur Nash, a young man who had lately married a daughter of Henry Sharp, one of the first settlers of that State, settling first, with his father, brother, and a few neighbors, at a place in Anderson County called Sharp’s Fort or Station. The farm and the oak mentioned in the poem are about one mile from the author’s birth-place, which he visited in 1871. The spring or fountain mentioned has been brought in pipes under ground from the rising ground, and pours forth a strong and constant stream from a hollow post standing in the shade of the tree. The poem was written at the suggestion of a member of the family.
    starting at about line 41
    In the deep and tangled wildwood I grew till I was strong;
    Southwestward was the Lost Creek meandering through the vale;
    To the east, along the valley, was the narrow Indian trail.
    The beasts and painted savages held undisputed sway,
    As the infant years of this old oak in silence passed away;
    And oftentimes the warrior has rested ‘neath my shade,
    And often by the streamlet his camping-ground was made.
    But the Indian left the country, and the white man hunter came,
    And up and down the valley pursued the timid game;
    The Indian war was over, and yeomen good and stout
    Came here from different quarters and settled round about:
    The Sharps, the Kecks and Graveses, the Rices and the Loys.
    ...

    Hello there! I don’t mean to be mean or a smart ass or anything, but those civil war graves were actually graves of southern union soldiers and not confederates. Union soldier graves have shields while confederate ones have a cross-like markings and say “CSA” on it with whatever military regiment the southern soldier served in. Judging by how old this cemetery is, any confederate soldier grave in it would most likely not have any confederate military marking on it since those southern markings came a lot later than the union ones. I appreciate the video and have a great day!

    All that short green stuff growing on the ground looks like what we call tea berry, or winter green. In the winter it has red berries and the leaves taste like tea berry chewing gum or winter green pepto bismol.l

      I think it’s a type of periwinkle that ain’t even native to this country. It makes purple blooms in the spring. Really pretty. 🥰

    • @MrKnoxguy101
      @MrKnoxguy101 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@denane44 Yep, they call it Vinca.. or Periwinkle. You’re right, it’s not native to North America. It is however native to Europe, which is likely why they planted it in cemeteries back then. When it blossoms, little pink and purple flowers bloom out of it during the spring.

    It's really sad that my family will get no more rest because of a bunch of trash telling ghost stories over their Graves. I'm pissed this is a disgrace to get on here and tell folks that you see smoke and ghosts this is disgraceful and shows a lack of respect for people's family. Sickening.

    • @denane44
      @denane44  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not ghost hunt I only do this for history and ancestry. Now of course if I or anyone else saw something we would tell it. So it’s apparent to me you haven’t seen my other videos where I say multiple times I don’t mess with that stuff. I’m not making g videos for ghost and I am extremely respectful! So you got the wrong person here!

    • @Jeff-ff8lg
      @Jeff-ff8lg ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah right is that why you claim to see smoke coming out of nowhere as if my family are some sort of demonic ghosts? Robert Longmire is my 3rd great grandpa Sarah sharp Longmire is my 3rd great grandma, the hill family are also related to me. How would you like it if I went to your families Graves and talked about them being ghosts and demons. And how strange they were. And turn them into something creepy. You know exactly what you are doing.

    • @Jeff-ff8lg
      @Jeff-ff8lg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw in one of your videos you claim that songbirds don't even sing in my families grave yard. That all you can ever here is crows. That's a pretty disrespectful comment to say the least.

    • @denane44
      @denane44  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jeff-ff8lg good Lord Jeff. Not disrespectful to say crap like that. I say that in my family cemeteries if it’s unusual. It is what it is. You need to calm down and chill with me I’m not doing one thing that is disrespectful. Have a wonderful day!!

    • @denane44
      @denane44  ปีที่แล้ว

      BTW! I never said there was ghost only other people said so. Besides if our families were saved they aren’t there anyway just their shell. Their spirit is with the Lord! In my opinion as a Christian woman the spirits that do roam the earth are demons not our ancestors. Keep on watching my videos you will see.
