Wow. Based on the views, it appears most of us needed this tutorial for applying the patch. I told the busy pharmacy tech, no worries, I'll look it up on TH-cam university. And wallah! Thank you so much, Dr. 🙏 Blessings!
Thank you! It wasn’t explained to me by my doctor. The pharmacist stated it didn’t matter where just as long as it’s not placed on area with hair & not in the exact same spot each time. I started out by placing patch on my hips & lower back. After a month of use, lower back pain started. Considering I placed on a different side each time, it was clear that the patch was causing pain. Wherever I placed it, pain would then be in that area. My doctor then suggested lower abdomen.
I usually wipe the area down with an alcohol pad first, and then heard to use my blow dryer for a couple of seconds just to help the adhesive stick. I also use my wild orange oil to remove any sticky residue after I take it off.
Thank you so much for this video, my doctor didn’t explain it well to me and I don’t know how to apply it or where to use it on my body. I know better now ❤
I’m so confused.. I think my patch says twice a week.. but I’m doing every Friday and Monday i hope I’m changing it right.. thank you this helped.. I just started hrt a week ago and I can tell it’s going to be a game changer.. I went through menopause at 43 I’m 49 now and just getting hrt .. dr’s in us don’t want to discuss it.. I’ve had an ordeal trying to get it..
This is confusing, plus the instructions that come in the box are horrible!! I am also on the twice a week. My patches are notched, I wonder if I am only supposed to be using half the patch where it’s notched for half the week and then use the other half the second part of the week?? Ugh 😩 they over complicate this crap!
Thank you so much. I just got my first patch. but my doctor left is open as to how much progesterone with 0.025 estradiol ( 5-50 mg daily), because my body’s still having some sort of a cycle ( not enough to feel good except 1-2 days, but ‘follicular’ and ‘luteal’ please, still distinct, no bleeding. I’d like to honor my body’s rhythm and just add a higher base levels so I do not fall into depression, brain fog & other crazy states. Is there a min amount😊 of progesterone that n my lowest day you would recommend?

Still got irritated so I had to quit the patch all together
Very useful video🎉. I've begun using hrt skin patches very recently and enjoyed watching your demo, which is exactly what I do. I suppose that the hormones through patches take a while to build up in the body and clear up symptoms of menopause.
Hi, thank you very much for your feedback. yes its to allow it some time to see whether its helping with the symptoms of menopause and also you will most likely have a review booked appointment to see if the dose that has been prescribed for you is working for you.
@@doctorrute2838 thank you for replying. Yes, I've got a follow-up appointment with my doctor. She asked me to go back 3 months later. So, I'm going in November. 🤞
Thank you! Mine fell off the next day in my shower. Can I just reuse that o e if I can get it to stick? Or should I put on a new one. I just put my first patch on ever last night. Thanks in advance ❤
Hi, If one falls off, it is best to apply a new one, but you can continue with the normal days you usually take one off and reply a new one. Hope they work out well for you :)
I will be starting estrogen patches on Sunday. The pharmacist said I could place the patch on my shoulder or arm. You say below the waistline. What is the reasoning for below the waistline please?
@@Olajumoke2525 Depending on where you are located you may first have to get a prescription from your Doctor, then go to a pharmacy to have the prescription filled. Prepare for the pharmacist to give you a speech on the dangers of estrogen, as many are still using old info when advising women.
Can i ask which patch you used in the demo please? I'm on Utrogestan so i don't need a patch with both oestrogen and progesterone. I need oestrogen patches only. I usually use Estradot but there is a national shortage so my pharmacist wants to give me estroderm. Is that one only oestrogen? Thank you x
For HRT I have a uterus I’m on an estrogen patch, but for my progestin , I am taking the mini pill Lyza, .35 mg a day. I hope that’s enough for menopause, I’m 53. Is Lyza okay? They are not giving me anything else, pills or topical
Dear Dr. I would like to add a few points that I learned a long the way. Patches are absorb better where we have some fat in our skin. They are NOT waterproof at all. You have to be very careful when weting them because they get wasted away and there is no relief for symptoms. And lastly, this 2 parches a week does not make sense. To get full benefit, is best to split it in 3 and a half days. 3.5+3.5=7 days. Not 4 and 3. That way you get inconsistent relief. Some days you feel great at the end of your patch (the three day one) and then you struggle on the one that needs to last 4 days. If symptoms are still showing or at least not feeling much of a relief we are on the wrong dose. It is too low!!! 0.25 when you first start is a joke. Specially when your symptoms are strong. The rate of absorption in the skin through patches varies from woman to woman. A blood test after six weeks should show what rate of absorption we are having. I am yet to have one blood test to see my hormonal levels. Dr's are very reluctant to do them. It is true that perimenopause can be a roller coaster but sure a base line is necessary to see where we at. Shame about the reluctancy.
Hi, yes, please book an appointment with your GP and they will go through with you the different options available . It depends on what is safe to prescribe to the individual and also that individuals preference.
Collectedy new patch today FEMSEVEN CONTI one patch per week. My issue now is I take shower before bed and on the morning before work...how is this suppose to last for a week? Not. Only that it will rob off on my bed
Does it matter what time of day? Meaning I just pick mine up today, should I take it first thing in the morning to see how my body reacts? Or would I be fine to take it at night vefore going to bed?
Thanks mines don’t stay on the full 7 days Maybe 5-6 on the Buttocks and I rotate. But it say the butt or the stomach, so I was wondering if there were any other areas even though the directions doesn’t indicate it.

Most patches are switched 2x a week, so you’re probably not using it correctly. They’re meant to stay on the skin 4 days at most.
