No 1 is Chevron. No 2 is Missouri Star. No 3 is Pinwheel. No 4 is a variation of Churn Dash and/or Square in a Square. No 5 is Shoo Fly on point (on point means turned once diagonally). Some blocks have more than one name so others might have some different offerings for names.

If you use a piece of press n seal after you’ve laid it out, it’ll hold all the pieces in the right place and then you can pick it up in one go and it’ll be in the same layout.

I adore the quilt. A silk pieced top with cotton backing; is it an antique? I'd not thought of using lace edging. Usually I luced mtching braids for my quilts, then add tassels (also made by myself). I like using quilting patterns on cards,but these are stunning. I shall have to riffle through my quilting pattern books
That is a lovely quilt!! Another great scraps video! When I create layouts of cards or projects, once I get them "rough" laid out, I take a photo with my phone. That way I can recreate it. The embossing really adds to the card!! They are all my favourite!
Oh Sam, these are Wonderful!!! The realistic-looking fabric effect emphasized by the embossing folder is just the PERFECT magical key that brings them to life! My mom, her mother, & her grandmother all used to sew & quilt - her mother actually sewed for a living - & my mom used to sew some of our clothes when I was a child, too. I've always had it in the back of my mind to look to quilt patterns as inspiration for creating such cards since (ironically) I don't sew myself, & like to translate all kinds of multimedia art into cards, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Your cards have inspired me to do so & I will definitely use this technique to make a mother's day or birthday card for my mom next year! So... on to the favorite ~ I was knocked out most by card #2 - my fave from start finish. This is a lovely technique. Ive used it a few times on cards to make a tulip, a heart and a butterfly. Embossing them does make a big difference, no 2 was my favourite.

I’m not sure how many patterns there are for it, but my aunt made me a wedding quilt, wedding rings I think she called it-wouldn’t that make a lovely wedding card?! These are all so gorgeous! And you are so good at figuring everything out, and coming up with something extra to add. The floral embossing folders were the most fabulous, but they all came out beautifully. Wish they had a thumbs up "Love" button. I liked all the layouts but I agree that the floral embossing folders were the best. I have a stitched swirls cover die that doesn't cut just presses swirled stitching and I bet it would work great for this. Looking forward to trying it out. Thanks!
Love this idea. I'm a quilter and got into cardmaking, I thought I would never do that. This is having your cake and eat it too. Can use material and sew it on to cardstock too.takes more time. But it's all fun. Thanks for Sharing.
The triangles used are called half square triangles or HST. You can search on HST quilting patterns and see many different patterns that can be used. You may like to check the disappearing four patch and the disappearing nine patch quilting patterns to make some interesting card fronts.
Love these cards, they really do look like fabric after you embossed them. No 5 is my fav it looks really classy. Thanks as always for the inspiration xx
To me the Edith Holden paper is too busy, it takes away from the quilting pattern and confuses the eye , if you’d of used much less of a busy pattern it would of stood out more , but that’s just my opinion not a criticism ❤❤
