Rev. Paul Jones recorded his hit song "I Won't Complain" on 4th of July weekend of 1988 live at Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston. Shortly before his death in 1990 he had signed with Malaco Records. Rev. Jones extensively traveled to venues singing the hit song. He was a great preacher, singer, and humanitarian.
Online report said he was robbed by someone who knew him and stole his jaguar and other things. The found the car not far from his house and one of the men got 20 yrs
Rev. Jones actually was a frequent guest in Shreveport eventually becoming an honorary member of the Bright Star Male Chorus. He forged a great relationship with the group and its president, Garland Jones. He actually preached in Shreveport at the Bright Star Baptist Church the Sunday morning before his death. Great man of God.

For the past few days this song has really blessed me! I had never heard it to my recollection, nor had I ever heard of Rev. Paul Jones. I just happened upon him and these songs by God's divine leading and I can say that it has stirred my soul. As an attack of the enemy came, I found myself singing this song. God is on time. There is not a friend like the "lowly" Jesus! Umpf(3x)! What a friend indeed! I have told many friends and family about his music. I would love a CD. Thanks for the post!
I wish I had met the Rev . Jones he has touched my heart and soul though I RE-VERTED back to Muslim some 10 yrs. ago his life and songs give me hope and trust in the Lord at this the most trying time of my 50 years

a thousand times we needed and million times we have cried if love could have saved you Paul , you would have never died ! We miss you sooooooooooooooooooo much Paul ! Sleep in Jesus ! Love you always
MITCHELL ALVAREZ my family are the Washington/Roy and we knew Paul before he began pastoring... and the Washington's , Roy's, Johnson's, Mitchell's were the founding members that helped him in his ministry. So I'm family thru Church lol... I remember the last time I saw Him/Paul he was soooo worried . He seemed as if he sensed that his rest was near . in service one time he stated that God showed him that he was going to die early . I'm Blessed to have the experience of saying that He was really something special.... His exwife and so called friends only speak of the negative side but He was God's anointed .
Wasn't he gay and got killed by his gay lover at his front door so let's not forget about that he may have been a man of God but he was a gay man of God

Yeah, the charges were eventually dropped to aggravated robbery, sentence to 20 yrs, was eligible for parol after 5, so the then 24 yr old has long since been released, strange plea for such a brutal murder, but they had cooperation issues on both sides.. there were things ppl didn't want to get out, ya know
Shanequa Austin Yes it was true. He knew the guys and deeply verified he had a different lifestyle outside the pulpit. Certainly blessed and anointed but struggled

Rev. Jones was killed in an apparent robbery attempt by his assailant. he was very annointed and down to earth. Really loved in the Shreveport area.
