Not until the Tories are out, and we have a Labour government... 36 billion swindled from the public through tax loopholes and sweetheart deals for corporations... yet our taxes rise, our wages freeze, and the cost of living steadily increases. The poor people pay the price for the rich bankers gambling with our money!!
I have lived under 4 Labour Governments and believe me, you think you are hard up now, wait till Corbyn gets the keys to number 10. You will really know what being poor is like. Don't run away with the idea that the rich will pay. They can live anywhere in the world they like. As always, it will be the poor who pay for the Left's overspending habit.
@@oldproji Conservatives have a worse spending record than the "Left" throughout History the Thatcher era had two recessions in 11 years during an oil boom.
@L McD Indeed the tories have spent more on brexit since 2016 aimed at getting a toxic FTA with Trump than Ed Milliband and Corbyn combined would have spent had they been Prime Minister. Hating the EU wasn't a majority of the vote until the 2016 referendum, and if Ed Milliband was Prime Minister there would have been no in/out referendum so the labour government under him would not have spent anuwhere near an estimated £200 bn that the tories by the end of this year will have spent on brexit alone since 2016. Even Corbyn's policy of making things less expensive for existing higher students at college and university (but not wiping all historic student debt from since 2004, and repay all back their student loan repayments they've already made with added interest, Corbyn never said he would in 2017) and new students not having to pay tuition fees and student loan repayments with the educational reinstated for them had Corbyn become Prime Minister in 2017, derided by the tories less than 3 years ago would have cost far less than the tory hard brexit. Only waiting now for the sanctions and heavy fines coming in from the EU when the tories renege on the withdrawal agreement of Irish sea customs checks next year being completely ignored, and sanctions from the UN for breaking the Good Friday Agreement will add significantlynto the brexit spendung
Opposition is growing but of course while the Tories are in power austerity will continue. It is the ideology they cling to in their greed, cruelty and delusions.
While searching 'Austerity in the UK' one soon realises this is the MOST RECENT video on this somewhat 'current affairs' topic. Some eighteen months have elapsed since this upload. Hmm!?!?!?
Austerity was never really implemented. It was just a PR campaign by George Osborne to make lenders think that the UK was of good credit quality and not wasting their money. It worked very well because the pound GBP rose from 2010-2015 which is proof of an economy being seen as better quality relative to its peers. Then they announced the Brexit referendum and the pound went into constant free fall. However, total spending was rising most of the time that Cameron and Osborne were in office. Real austerity is actually a growth policy because by the government borrowing less, they leave funds available for the private sector to borrow to invest in business. It stops the situation of "crowding out."
It's time the people fought back and showed the Politicians and traders what real austerity means. We the people have the power to impose austerity on the Government and the traders. Buy only what you need on a daily basis. Make sure you don't spend a lot of money on your purchases. Seek out the cheapest prices even if you only save a penny. Don't use your credit card unless you can pay it off every month and be sure to get the best deals from your bank. Shop at one supermarket one week and the next week try somewhere else. Supermarkets will crash if trade is slow for more than two weeks. People have the power but getting them on board is harder than melting a bucket of snow. It's the peoples choice. We hold all the cards.
Keran Kerai It's not just the tories it was labour from the 60/70s onwards that wanted to run premium services on a shoe string and did not invest in the right things. Ones thing is for sure is that the government better invest in keys areas of engineering and medical research just to name a few industries post brexit or our country will be f*cked.
Unemployment at an all time low, more money in the NHS than ever before, the deficit down. The last few years of conservative government has saved Britain - stop being so stupif

We have ausTORYty, not austerity.
Austerity takes from the POOR WORKERS and gives it to the BANKERS AND CORPORATIONS. Greece is a good example what will happen in UK.
2018 and austerity still continues ....
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer..
Yet they tell us that we’re in it together.
"Homelessness has doubled since 2010"
Yes, because people who were fed cheap and easy credit year after year were suddenly starved of credit.
Well this is depressing.
It will never be over under the Tories. Austerity makes for easier work and they are a very lazy government full of the privileged.
in a word, No! 😞

brexshit means : from ..austerity to ..brexterity
Don't know where people get the idea that life is supposed to be enjoyable.
Maybe not enjoyable but definitely not miserable either

No it's not it won't be until the Tories are kicked out of power. They didn't hear the message or change.
Austerity will destroyed the Tories which Theresa May shall resigned.
the tories forgot to invest wisely. they cared about the big stuff but the smaler that was needed was not looked at.

It is not.

Nico Johnson unemloyment at an all time low - That's if you believe everything the Tories say.
Sorry Nico, but that is complete nonsense.
