My thoughts are with all affected. Building owners / landlords need to be fined heavily for their lack of action on the cladding and fire regulation failure. It's time they started taking responsibility for their lack of action. Not just for fire, but all other failures of response to issues, including mold etc.
Correct .This is the site of the old Berger paint factory in Freshwater Road known as the Spectrum Building ( a Spectrum of colours of course ) which was converted into mixed commercial/residential some time ago .
Thoughts go to those affected, thanks to the brave fire fighters once again and big thanks too saw Salvation Army vehicle giving food refreshments to the brave firefighters and all 999 emergency workers. Think the Sally Army should get mentioned by media for what they do at these emergencies. They go unnoticed . public should see what they do, especially when we put money in their collection boxes.
I was a Firefighter and yes the Salvation Army attended not just major incidents but much smaller ones such like haystacks ablaze in farmyard barns with probably only 15 Firefighters in attendance etc .These angels attended anytime day or night in any weather. Bless them . Firefighters food and liquid intake is so important especially after the first hour where intense, hard, hot and dangerous tasks have carried out in that first hour. Salvation Army gang usually turned up just in time to feed us after that gruelling first hour!
I hope no one from the tower block or any firefighters got hurt from this huge blaze. After the Greenfield tower fire all cladding should have been removed by now to make it safer for everyone.
I'm Sure The Countless Families In Rows Alongside This Blaze Felt A Shiver Of Fear Seeing This. It's Hard To Ignore Facts When They're Burning A Hole In Your Community.
It appears to me that the fire started on the ground floor and spread upwards and outwards (sideways) through the cladding, and started by whoever! Perhaps (arson)! But I am not there to inspect, (retired senior officer).
So, work on the 'cladding' led to this -- smells like the Grenfell Tower fiasco of seven years ago. And now there have been two tower fires in London in just a couple days. WTF is going on?
Why are people talking about solar panels ? They where removing flammable cladding... obviously THAT was the cause lol Solar panels... what next ? Electric cars ? "Woke" ?
Amazing, isn't it in the comments? With zero evidence, there are lots of people blaming: solar panels, insolation, immergration because of people's methods of cooking, and Islamic terrorism? I mean, talk about confirmations biase. And this is on the BBC. Lord knows what it would be like on the Express?
I wonder who thought this cladding on the outside of buildings was a good idea. You’d think they would have learnt with the Grenfell tower fire that claimed so many innocent victims….
I hear ya but it’s actually a London borough, the borough of Barking & Dagenham. I used to stay in neighbouring Chadwell Heath and I always called it as Chadwell Heath, Essex, the same as Dagenham used to be Essex.
@@DataDon-rl1mbit is, the London border starts at East Ham just after Barking Eseex and Manor Park just after ilford Essex. I've lived there all my life and the address is still Essex. People from outside of the area think its London bit it's not

Looking at the building.......would I be correct to say that was originally an office building that has been converted to flats?

Didn't the exact same thing happen a couple of years ago?

Last time they left everyone in and blamed Brexit.
Let's have a moment of silence for the 15 cannabis plants that got killed in the making of this video

Its actually Essex NOT London
It's still inside Greater London and the M25

The LONDON Borough of Barking and Dagenham is not in Essex.
@lalulu03 yes many counties fall within the M25
