    Words chosen are precise e.g laterally flex. Some videos merely stated :'Flex' the neck. It was confusing. I hadn't realize that studying using 3 D provided a deeper understanding. This is relevant from an ultra -sounding perspective. Thanks.

      thank you for your comment! it’s always challenging to find the best description for these movements since different books, sources and languages name them differently,.. but visualizing them is way more important- because if you see a movement you know what is meant and very often you can repeat it immediately - anatomy is universal so I try to use as little words as possible.

    Back bundles of SCM also perform neck extension.

    Bilateral : flexion of head.
    Unilateral : laterlly flexion of head, rotate to opposite side.

    Excellent. First video of yours I've seen. Very effective. Going to use your channel as I study Integral Anatomy through dissection with Gil Hedley. My goal is to be a better massage therapist. Thank you from Joshua Tree, California, USA

    How is this muscle helping in flexion?
    If it contracts according to this diagram it causes extension

    anyone found the exerciceS needed to strengthen all fibers? (Lying on the back and moving around the painful area solved some problem for me but more remains in this muscle)

    How come I don't feel any muscular contraction of these when my head is in frontal flexion ? Am I the only case...??
    Both on lateral head flexion and contralateral rotation, the muscular contraction is pretty blatant though...

    • @AnatomyLab
      @AnatomyLab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you tried to palpate near the clavicle bone when you front flex?

    • @amandinenayrolles2235
      @amandinenayrolles2235 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnatomyLab In fact it is more obvious when resisting the front flexion with one hand placed on the forehead or under the chin
