Using some cheats on the PC Version, I was able to get every hidden NPC / unplayable character unlocked in the roster and there are some CRAZY weird ones. A lot of these are story mode variants or characters that would appear in ultimate attacks, like Lavender & Basil or Pui Pui! It's really interesting stuff, so let me know which characters you like the best!

I haven't coded in like 10 years, so I might be mistaken, but I think it's pretty funny that they are creating the same character multiple times with different names because the closed captioning must be programmed in a way where it pulls the name of the character asset before adding the actual string dialogue to their caption. Ex: "Mysterious Man: (dialogue goes here)". Mysterious Man is the character asset (we call them objects in development) and its name is likely a string variable that gets inserted like - (object.Name)": "+ "Dialogue". I haven't played the game yet, but I'm also assuming those items are interactable in-game and essentially the items must have either hidden properties or move sets that are triggered when they're used (Like maybe the fusions are actually triggered via the items move instead of the characters). This is all an educated guess, I'm sure a data miner or modder knows the real answer. I'm pretty confident though about the captions though. Considering they're allowing players to create their own scenarios with unique dialogue would explain why they needed to set it up that way instead of just hard coding static dialogue lines with the names of the characters being part of the individual string.

Actually if you compare it, Gohan Black (Ultimate) has a different Aura then SSJ Rose Goku Black. They're both Pink but Gohan Black's is a light see through pink with a bit of black which fits with the Ultimate transformation while Goku Black's is a dark pink mixed with purple and black and more in line with SSGSS Aura.
There are custom battles with gohan black too, and chichi in custom’s is playable but broken, she can’t use burst rushes and her spirit bomb lacks a cutscene
To clarify why they can't use the kaioken attack, they don't have bones designed for grabs. The animation will play, but without bones to connect the move, the game just assumes you missed.

The two Gokus from 21:05 are from the alternate history where he and Piccolo actually beat Raditz without Goku having to sacrifice himself. Since he never dies and goes to King Kai's place, he never learns Kaioken or Spirit Bomb, leaving his move set with just the end of original DB Meteor Combo & Super Kamehameha!
Top of my list now. Shu Edit: I want to play Supreme Kai and Beerus in DP. They should really just mass release alot of these characters with some basic or mirrored movesets.
I think a lot of the duplicate characters are move set variants from episode battle, like versions that have one move but not others like the mid goku from the alternate saiyan saga where he goes super saiyan against vegeta and doesn’t have the king Kai techniques

Since Gohan Black doesn't go corrupted there is no unique model for it.
