    Sweet, you bring back a lot of memories my brother. Nothing like bustin a hump with an Indian tank through the woods or swingin a pulaski . Best times of my life. Even real men need someone to look up to. Thanks for being that guy. Remember the Yarnell Hill 19. Be safe. God Bless.

    It is great to see you posted this video again. I know it was taken down because of some of the people who commented badly about some of the things you said in it. I work with CERT in my area and it is nice to see what goes on when fire fighter , Men and Women, risk their lives to save others from wild fires. It is sad to me to know that many of people lose their house and everything they own, but it always brings me back to the need to be prepared to move out of the place you live if the time come when it is not save any more. Knowing that there are people like yourself willing to work to save what you can, the then other to come in after to help put our lives back together. Thanks for showing us what these brave men and women do to help keep our way of live safe.

    I think that most people underestimate the power of wildland fires, especially where I live. I have never experienced a Wildlandfire nor the effects of it, and I thought it was pretty shocking to see al the burnt down houses and forests on the way. You are doing a great job making people aware of this. Your'e doing a great thing, Keep it up!

    It's terrible that these families lost their homes.
    But I am incredibly appreciative that you have showed us this. I am far removed from this sort of thing in Virginia. I think we need to be reminded that these things do actually happen. Life isn't just soccer games and BBQs.

    you've really inspired me to join the volunteer fire service. i've only had one experience fighting a fire and that was a house fire where my cousin and i were first on the scene with nothing more than a couple of buckets but we did manage to keep it contained until the fire dept came and told us to piss off.
    I too would like to see more about how you prepare your home for fire season as i live in rural australia and the fire season is coming up quick.

    Great video. Here in East Texas we have a great Mutual Aid system of VFD's so we don't ever get to work big crews like you're doing. So I'm curious, how does one distinguish between a contract woodland FF and a regular paid, or does it not make any difference? Just curious. Keep up the good work you're doing. I'm a little bit jealous honestly. LOL.

    Iv worked on a type 5 and 6 at a vol station. One thing I never understood and maybe you can explain this to me, how do automatic low level shutoff systems work? When our tanks water got too low, it shut off. How dothose sensors and systems work? With out bigger and newer rig, we had a system that when the water hit 15 % left, the hose pulsed a few times.

    I lived in Monroe Washington when i was a teen, i love to see firefighters work, my dad was a firefighter for 30+ years, and i always wanted to see the wildfire side of it, it seems totally different from homes and workplaces, i'm amazed! What happens to wildlife during these fires? Keep your videos coming!

    • @jbrewster4577
      @jbrewster4577 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the larger wildlife migrates away from the fire, leaving large well beaten trails away from the area & after the area cools off you'll start seeing burrowing animals come out of their holes (rabbits, mice, etc.).
      When the larger animals return (cougars, coyotes, deer, elk, etc.) they make new trails through the burned area so they can quickly & easily move from one area to another.
      Where I camp & hunt, the fire that occurred cleared large sections of heavy pines & brush. Within a year there was a large increase in grazing area throughout the burn, & the wildlife population grew pretty quickly due to the increased food availability. Our Elk herds have become extremely healthy :)
