When I used to work at BPM DANCE in Zoetermeer (2003) they had their studio there. Ron is a very down to earth and nice guy! Great, awesome tracks and yes... I have them on vinyl obviously 🤣😂
Nice interview. Ron is a cool guy. I had a chance to meet him once in Fresno, California. He played an absolute fire of a set that time. Signum = quality Trance music. He rocks.
When he mentions the inspiration from Chicane and Energy 52, I immediately got goosebumps. Just two of my favorite producers growing up. Interesting how you get "What ya got 4 me" with offshore considering how chill it is.
I have always considered Ron a REAL artist and musician, the details and the art that are perceived in his records are goodies that many producers cannot even imagine in their best fantasies.
Ron you are my favourite guy from the old era of trance AND the the highest rated producer in my books ever. Cant wait for the downtempo stuff as Cinalematical is a masterpiece for me.
I love how those guys heard something as chilled as Offshore by Chicane and thought 'lets make something like that' and then produced one of the most iconic Hard House tunes of the time!
Awesome interview again twan :) Nice to see and hear from the guys that made these classic tracks. Looking forward as usual to your future interviews! :)
Ron Is da don! Check his enthusiasm. He's really so Dutch. This track was a massive trade classic in the UK, the last time I heard it out was at a little gay pride a couple of years ago.
Saw Signum at the Telewest arena in Newcastle for the Godskitchen Carnival in March 2002. These were first on in the main arena - absolutely banging start to one of the best nights I've ever had.
Good stuff as usual :) can’t fault signum, absolute classics, coming on strong, 9pm till I come and travel-Bulgarian remixes and many others are still played to death on my turntables :)

@@magdelayna googled that also and came to the same conclusion as yours, not that this is a super make-or-break background info point, but right is right and kudos to the original maker should always be attributed!
I would have love to have heard about the "Better off alone" remix they did. I'm biased, as for me personally, it's probably my favourite from the 1999 golden era of trance. Best this Signum did.
Great interview Twan Signum were absolutely incredible back in the day, my favourite producers at the time! Does the next interview touch on why he and Pascal dont work together anymore? I know sometimes these things can be a touchy subject though...
For now I can only do interviews with people that live near me (in The Netherlands). In the pinned post on my Muzikxpress Facebook page you can read all details etc. And Sasha didn’t do much on Xpander... Charlie May is the one responsible for that. Sasha is not really a producer, great DJ, but he won’t be able to answer questions about the production etc, so he’s not really on my wish list. Sorry, just being honest 😉 I prefer to talk to people that were actually involved with their own hits / classics.
@@muzikxpress ah makes sense ! Thank you. The Dutch are always known for their honesty which is awesome 👏 Have you any plans to make a documentary on the history of trance or do you have a good recommendations on any?
That would be like asking for a Tiesto interview about 'his' most well known work on Delerium Silence remix. He may have had ideas and input in the studio with his partner, but the real talent lies in the technical production skills which I doubt he ever had the intelligence to pull off on his own. No disrespect intended at all, his much earlier work was quite decent too but his partner helped him a lot studio wise in the middle of his peak. Pity he went to shet after Adagio. Some say it was before that \(◎o◎)/

@@muzikxpress a lot of us understand and totally appreciate the hard work with time, equipment, travel, organization ect ect. Keep up the good work. Ron Hagen & Pascal M - Forever . timeless classic as well as their Gamemaster remix! One of the best trance classics ever.

Great Interview! I thought this track was influenced by Tony de Vit - The Dawn? I read that a few years ago...both were released in 98.
No, the other way around. The Dawn was released two years later and was inspired by What Ya Got 4 Me.
