Thanks for the video! This makes it seem quite doable for someone with basic mechanical skills and experience. Would you be able to confirm the parts you bought? Looking at the parts diagrams, it seems the assembly you had on hand was made of a few separate components. Thanks in advance! Edited to add I’m working on a 2011.
I followed this video and replaced both of my front hub assembly’s, brought the car into get alignment done and the tech showed me that wheel moves in and out ever so slightly when pushing back and forth at 12 and 6 position with no load on wheel. It moves like about a hair thickness on both sides. The tech told me he can’t perform an alignment and wants to replace the bearing hub assembly. I’ve driven 50 miles on it and haven’t noticed anything humming or rubbing. In fact, replacement of these parts has given me a smoother ride. My question is, is this tech just trying to build his commission or did I do something wrong during install? Any insight would be helpful.
There is always the possibility the parts you purchased are defective, new parts just aren’t as good as they used to be. What manufacturer did you use? We would say you should probably go to another alignment shop and see what they say.

Great vid. Might be doing this soon. My 2011 has a squeak I’m thinking is wheel bearing. Much easier than my 1994 runner 😂

More than likely it was a full kit. Just make sure the dust seal is included.

Probably CarQuest or Napa’s mid to high line. It was definitely purchased at Napa.
Could use a pipe as an extension for your 17 mm box wrench
The pipe extension handle is a staple in our shop! Connecting wrenches as well.
