The greatest sense of rhythm you will ever hear from any drummer ever. He did fills that John Bonham would never do, and he did fills that Charlie Watts could never do. Drumming like this is what made people fall in love with this guy despite purists absolutely despising him. One of the most important musicians in rock history!

I fully understand Pete saying that Keith wasn't a good drummer....in the traditional sense, but by God, he was a genius musician who really has never been truly copied. He played with so much enthusiasm and drive and he threw out the rules and couldn't' care less. I loved him behind the set. My personal favorite rock drummer.

As a drummer, Keith Moon has been my drumming idle since I was 16 back in 1997. I’v listened to Live At Leeds thousands of times. I almost broke my office desk top when my jaw hit it when I started listening to this. It’s funny, I can listen to this and know what song there playing and exactly where there at in that song!

Incredible piece of work to isolate moons drumming no one can replicate his style although zac does a great job saw them in Manchester 1975 stood near the front and it was so loud the beat of his drums it felt like a boxer punching your front happy days😂😂😂

Keith moon was more on form for this tour than any other ,in fact in 75 he did not do any bad gigs I have heard them all , on you tube audience bootleg recordings , though some [ but by no means all] are not the bestsound quality, the drums usually come out well , he was constantly changing his style throughout the tour , the big white kit he had at your gig he gave to 12 year old zac , it was made of african mahogany with copper metal fittings instead of chrome , i did not get into the who until 79 when at 9 years old heard quadrophenia at my cousins in Liverpool , so I envy you for seeing them when according to Entwistle "the gigs of 75 /76 were our best shows " ,

Brilliant, Keith not only had his unique way of playing, he kinda played the song itself, not just to the song..

This is astonishing - your whole channel, and this. LAL is my all time favourite album - has been since I first heard it when I was 11. I'd love to hear a Townshend isolated track - that would be a dream. Either way it's incredible what you've done - I can't quite believe my ears to be honest, what I'm listening to. I first got LAL on cassette and used to play it on my mono cassette recorder (this was in the seventies). Decades on and I have top of the range hifi and more albums than I can ever play, but I tell you, nothing matches the sheer power and emotion of hearing this album in mono, on my crappy little cassette player.
    Kudos to you!

I don’t know how you do it but you have done a great job with these Who albums. Any chance for isolating drums for Quadrophenia?

The ‘Who are You?!” Tour was their best ever… and last with Moon the loon! I always thought the signing on the chair Keith was sitting in- on the album cover was almost a foretelling of his fate not too long after… (“Not to Be Taken Away”)… R.I.P.

There wasn't a Who are You tour? They last toured in '76 before Keith's death.

    A FORCE OF NATURE.
    TRANSCENDENTAL ABANDONMENT.
    GRACE and PRECISION.
The rolling, unending, undulating power and limitless energy of
    THE OCEAN.
    (I could go on…)
I recall watching some documentary or other on the subject of drums and drummers, in which one of the tedious ‘talking heads’ was the drummer from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. From what I remember, his name is CHAD, ffs 😆. London lad Keith Moon was 24 years old when the above supernatural, oceanic performance was recorded. Chad is almost three times that age, wears baseball caps back-to-front and for the last 40-odd years has somehow made a living peddling cheap, ten-a-penny, nondescript plastic faux-funk white beats in his dull-99%-of-the-time Californicating band, yet he extremely annoyingly proceeded to slag off Keith Moon’s drumming. He basically waved his arms around a bit and said that Moon’s drumming style was “crazy”. Sheer profundity of insight…🤡🤪
There are none so deaf as those who cannot hear the art, the grace, the astonishingly subtle PRECISION of Moon’s playing, as evidenced here.
Even Stewart Copeland, who actually IS a great drummer, said something derogatory about Keith Moon’s drumming; reverting to the lazy, Moon-the-Loon tabloid cliches about the Wembley Wunderkind.
Any damn fool who contributes to or perpetuates the false and imbecilic trope that Keith Moon was just a clownish drunk who played a bit of ‘crazy’ drums with The Who should:
    i) Clean the wax out of their cloth ears and listen closely to the precision-thwumping ethereal majesty of the drumming on Live at Leeds (recorded about a week after Keith had run over and killed his chauffeur with his Bentley as he attempted to escape a gang of violent skinheads); and
ii) Remember that John Bonham (hairy, heavy-handed hitter of hardware whose band was given its name by Keith) sat at the side of the stage at Who concerts so that he could watch and learn in admiration as Moon played the drums like a GOD - it was NOT the other way round…
    Altogether now:
    “Rule Britannia,
    Britannia rules the (air)waves…”
We gave the World magic, dahlings, and you should bloody well be grateful 💋
