Of course, as an old German motorcyclist, I had heard of RUDGE, but what these motorcycles really mean and what they can do on the road, I realized only after producing a few days ago this film about a Rudge Special (1930). They really are incredibly good motorcycles. So let's see how they run: th-cam.com/video/W04ZIqr3Hxs/w-d-xo.html
Two exhausts unusual for 50cc british single? How many British 500cc motorcycles you actually saw before? Quite usual for all those Ariel Red Hunters, BSA twinports from 1930 Slopper to 1940 M23s, Norton 20s or Royal Enfield J2s, to name few... :D
Very superficial and ignorant commentary by the guy sitting on the bike. There were two exhaust pipes BECAUSE it was a twin-port (4 valve) head, but he talks about it like they put two exhaust pipes on there just to be different than everybody else. How was the primary chaincase casting any more difficult than other castings done by everybody, like crankcases for instance? And so on...
A brilliant bike full of innovative excellence.

How is torque developed by braking.
Rudge were high quality, high performance bikes. Please fit an air filter and save engine wear. Bell-mouths are for the track.
