Repent, attend church and do not receive Eucharist. the last option isnt ideal but if you can not accept the truth then go to a flawed protestant church which accepts people who defy Catholic teachings
If I were the bishop, I would ask her to come in and ask her what does God say marriage is. It is clear. Marriage is between one man and one woman. We knew when they were pushing to redefine marriage because they were saying, “all we want is the right to marry who we love”. We knew it was only a matter of time when they would be demanding more. That is sin. If you give an inch they will take a mile. If the Bishop could not get her to repent and turn away from scripturally what distances us from God, I would give her money back. Tell her to go to a church that promotes gay marriage if she wants to feel better. We cannot change God’s teaching. She has a title of judge. That is truly sad.

When someone who lives publicly in a way which is contrary to church teaching it appears they aren’t trying to change their behavior. It is obvious to everybody, not something the priest learned privately in Confession. However, even then, the priest counseled her privately that she shouldn’t come forward for Communion. She should already have known that! It was her choice to go public. The fact that she previously contributed to the building fund is not relevant to whether she should receive Communion.
Fundemons You really believe a city was destroyed because of lack of hospitality?! The men of the city only wanted the male visitors, not Lot’s female daughters. Doesn’t that give you a clue what the story is teaching?
If she calls herself a true Catholic Christian then she would know the Catechism of the Catholic faith. By marrying another woman she has spat in Jesus face by desecrating Him, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. Fr Nolan had every right to stop her from receiving the Eucharistic but he would have gladly given her a blessing if she approached the Altar in the correct many. z z just another nonCatholic who is ignorant of the scriptures and orthodox Christianity. I reckon you need some learnin’. We call our priests father because they are our spiritual fathers, through Jesus Christ, giving new birth by baptism, through Jesus Christ. Read the scriptures. Paul called himself a father to the communities he founded and to individuals like Timothy. The Bible also calls Abraham our father in the faith. It is very scriptural to call Catholic priests father.
@I C Chastity is a great sacrifice and is not for everyone, but for those who freely follow the call to consecrated life the obligation of practicing chastity in celibacy for the sake of the Kingdom. Jesus described marriage when asked about divorce, Jesus said, a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife. That is marriage. Shame on other priests who ignore what Jesus has said about marriage.
@Big Wheel let us pray for their conversion. God allowed it for our conversion to stop offending Him. @@nestoons4539 Being gay isn't a sin, and the Catholic church does not teach it is a sin, not at all. Your sexuality is not a sin. It is actions that are sinful. To partake in disordered sexual acts outside the bonds of a holy marriage is cause for mortal sin, regardless of your sexuality. This woman is living in mortal sin through her choices and actions, not her sexuality. That is why she is being denied communion - not because she is gay, but because she has openly denied God's teaching through her words and actions. To give the eucharist to ANYONE in mortal sin is one of the worst things a priest can do, but also to take the eucharist while in mortal sin is one of the worst things WE can do. The priest is acting out of charity for this woman's soul by denying her the eucharist in her state.
That priest, Fr. Nolan, actually cares for her soul, more than he cares about public opinion or what is culturally fashionable. He is actually being a spiritual father to her, leading her to repentance. He stands as a hero in the faith, demonstrating great courage.
I 100% agree. The priest's #1 job is the salvation of souls. Anyone who disagrees with this priest's action does not understand what the duties and serious responsibilities are of an ordained and faithful Catholic priest. It is on his watch that she needs to come to repentence before she can receive Holy Communion. Think of the words "Holy Communion". What does that mean Judge? Are you living a life of holiness? Are you living a life in full communion with the mystical body of Christ (the Church)? Appears to be the sin of scandal on public display, further endangering the souls of other faithful Catholics. It's a dominoe effect. Where does one draw the line if the faithful priest doesn't call her out to repent and to seek forgiveness and mercy?
Being gay is not culturally fashionable. It is how we are born. It is genetic.....it is how God made us. You cannot argue it is not or explain why Rome won't sanction it, yet you choose the side by reflex. That is YOUR task to change not ours.
@@will8026 With no intention to argue, just to remind U of what befell Sodom and Gomorrah over sodomy. Deuteronomy also forbids homosexuality. She's living openly against the teachings of the Church started by Jesus so this priest was 100% correct in denying her Holy Communion. I don't know if the other priests that gave her Holy Communion were aware of her public lifestyle choice, but if they were they have done her a disservice and betrayed their oath to Our Lord.
sgzartan Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. But if one is to be consistent, then communion must be denied to anyone who disagrees with ANY teaching of the Church. To just single out certain teachings IS discrimination. Not to mention the fact that many hierarchical officials globally have been much more tolerant of priests who abuse children. Not only have many never been denied communion, but their crimes have been kept secret, and these priests (a small percentage of all those serving as priests) have been routinely re-assigned to other parishes, other dioceses, even other countries, with no word of warning to parents, and even to any other priests serving in these parishes. The hierarchy has yet to institute universal policies aimed at transparency in identifying those priests who have abused children to the members of the Church, and policies aimed at protecting children from abusive priests. Some bishops have taken action, but many have not. To state that this is hypocritical is a huge understatement.

O K I don’t think that word “sodomy” means what you think it means. And what this woman is doing is NOTHING like what the people of Sodom wished to do with Lot’s visitors. They wanted to gang rape them. That is NOT remotely similar to the woman’s relationship. Again, Jesus never said a single word about homosexuality. If you think otherwise, then cite the Gospel, chapter and verse. I DO recall his words and actions when a crowd brought forth a woman “caught in the act of adultery”. Strange thing is that no one else was brought forward, also accused. How does anyone commit adultery by themselves? I trust you remember Jesus words “Let the one without sin cast the first stone.” (The punishment for adultery was usually, under Jewish practice, stoning). The crowd quickly melted away. And Jesus, in his mercy and forgiveness, refused to condemn her also. He simply said, “Go and sin no more” - words that we ALL as sinners should apply in our own lives. And it’s important to note that the woman in this story was accused of adultery. That is in the Decalogue (The 10 Commandments). Homosexuality is NOT listed in the Decalogue. Homosexuality is actually rarely mentioned in the Bible, especially homosexuality as WE understand it today. Usually what is condemned is closer to the sexual abuse of a child or adolescent. That is what Paul was talking about when he mentioned it. Catholic teaching about this is actually not based on Scripture, but on the rather nebulous idea of “natural law”. At that time (as the teaching was developed), homosexuality was seen as being “unnatural”. But there is one rather large problem with that. Homosexual behavior exists widely in nature. It’s been observed in almost every mammal species, and also among many species of birds. You can see this for yourself by searching that topic in Wikipedia. I was shocked when I first saw it, because it’s a very long and comprehensive list. So it exists widely in nature. One thing that should be very clear is that no one chooses their sexual orientation. Because there have been many who would have chosen to be heterosexual, and not face the ostracism from their families, community, and faith tradition. And it’s not a good idea for someone who is homosexual to try to live as a heterosexual. Most of those marriages don’t end well, because they are built on a false foundation. So the question is why would God create a person (or any creature) with a homosexual orientation?
there are priests in this diocese that do not believe in the true presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. They told me so in person that they did not believe. The priests also make fun of me, when I knelt received Jesus in Holy Communion. Bishop Walkowiak needs to get rid of these priests who do not follow their vows of celibacy

I was raised Catholic but am no longer a practicing Catholic. I am still a Christian, and while this is not a sin or violation against any of the Ten Commandments (as far as I know-but, could be wrong) the Bible is quite clear that GOD does not approve of it ("If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."). I applaud anyone who desires GOD in their life but changes in "life choices" sometimes have to be made in order to take that walk. In the video it mentioned that the judge was married, but I seriously doubt she was married in the Catholic Church which should have given her a clue that it was not accepted. She can change religions to another that may be accepting of her choice but the fact will remain that the BIBLE is very clear on the act/choice of homosexuality.

I was denied comunion for one year until I mended my life!. And I just had to bow my head and obey! . I was 29, (1990) married by law, only, to the father of my 2 kids. In my country we get married by civil law and in a church. I was only married by law. My confessor told me "marry him in a church or leave him". I was not ready to do any of that. If, in a year you come and tell me you did not see him anymore (PURPOSE OF AMMENDMENT),, then I will absolve you and you can take comunion. You have to decide who is more important for you!". You would say he was too severe. And you will be right and I rebeled against him in my mind but still obeyed him. I didnt approach to comunion.. but he was right. Within a couple of months I fell in the same sin with the father of my kids. I have to give it to him: he was right! He knew more about human nature than me, silly and proud thing!. . So, yes, I had to mend my life before taking the body of my Lord! And I didn't make a scandal or tried to bring the church down because it would not bend to my caprice. That is the reason it is in such dire straits now. It is bowing to the wishes of everyone and watered down that it becomes meaningless. People say," I am not going to bother going to Mass, I can get this stuff, talking about the Bible with some friends at the donut shop."
Shaun Collins Before even continuing to express a desire to excommunicate someone you don’t even know, bear in mind that the hierarchy (and this came from the very top of that hierarchy) chose not to excommunicate Hitler, nor any members of the Nazi Party. Now during this same period, if one was a member of the Communist Party, one was automatically excommunicated. But you could have joined the Fascists in Italy, or the Nazis in Germany and attend Mass and receive Communion. No automatic excommunication. As a matter of fact, I don’t know of any priest who has abused children publicly denied communion. Indeed, for decades (and probably a lot longer), their crimes weren’t even made public, and they continued in ministry, despite multiple reports of victims. I live in the Boston Archdiocese, and we KNOW this was the case, as a judge ordered the Archdiocese to make its personnel files public. This pattern and policy didn’t just exist in Boston; we know it is global, and more and more is being uncovered. The entire hierarchy of bishops in Chile actually tendered their resignations to Pope Francis, who accepted many of those resignations. And while abusive priests have been defrocked, they have never been denied the sacraments. This woman has not harmed anyone by who she is, and by her committed relationship with a mutually consenting adult partner. She is denied communion, but a priest (or ex-priest) who has caused significant harm to children is allowed to receive communion. Do you seriously think that Jesus would approve of this hypocritical policy? He never said a single word about homosexuality, but he had a LOT to say about the hypocrisy of the hierarchy of his own faith tradition, Judaism. I was interested to discover that St. Oscar Romero, the martyred Archbishop of San Salvador (in the nation of El Salvador), who was canonized by Pope Francis, never refused communion to ANY Salvadorans who were members of death squads, or who were known government officials who controlled those death squads, and thereby terrorized the people they were supposed to be serving. He very publicly pleaded with them to repent, but he did not deny them the Eucharist, probably because he had hope that receiving the sacrament might bring spiritual aid, and help them to repent of their sins. Sins that were FAR more serious than a homosexual couple getting married (in a civil, not religious) ceremony. If you remember, Jesus violated taboos by knowingly entering the homes and visiting with known prostitutes, and other publicly known sinners. He didn’t deny them of his presence, but went into their homes to minister to them. And when reading the Gospels, we KNOW that this had a positive effect, and many, who were as publicly outcast as homosexuals are today, became Jesus’ disciples. I’ve browsed many of the comments here, and there is a LOT of slipshod theology here, that exceeds even Catholic teaching regarding this issue. For instance, there is no sin in BEING homosexual in and of itself, though I admit that I disagree with the teaching that just having a homosexual orientation is a serious natural disorder. You might be surprised to discover that in the natural world, almost all species of mammals have been observed engaging in homosexual behavior. You can find a comprehensive list at Wikipedia. I was genuinely surprised when I discovered this. But as far as Catholic moral theology goes, one is not sinning just by having a homosexual sexual orientation. Only homosexual ACTS are considered sinful, and even then, that depends on being fully aware and freely consenting. I doubt (though I don’t know, obviously) that this judge doesn’t believe she is violating her own conscience. Obviously, there will be disagreement over this, but there is no sin in BEING homosexual. Shaun Collins My wicked thinking? Do you know what triumphalism is? I suggest you look it up. I see a lot of it here. And it’s dangerous. Do you understand what Paul was condemning? It wasn’t homosexuality as we understood it. It was a practice which was widely practiced in the ancient world. Many men, heterosexual men, used to mentor boys and adolescents. Rather like an apprenticeship. But many of these men were abusing their students. And Paul wasn’t the first to condemn the practice. 400 years prior, Plato addressed the issue in his writings. (That, by the way, was the origin of the term Platonic). I suggest you watch the documentary “For The Bible Tells Me So.”
Shaun Collins Nobody has authority to excommunicate anyone. It’s a lie. I don’t approve of homosexuality, but EVERY person deserves a chance to repent until they are dead. Nobody has a right to condemn someone for their sins while they are still alive

Whenever I am in a state of mortal sin, I consciously know that whenever I'm in the communion procession, I cannot receive communion. Instead, I receive a blessing from the minister of communion. My parish has those who cannot receive communion, but are in the procession, put one hand over their heart as a sign (and a prompt for the minister of Holy Communion) that they cannot receive the Eucharist. Oftentimes they will receive a blessing instead
Zinnia he did indeed, yet I have sinned in such a way that it breaks my communion with the body of Christ, the Church. Not excommunication, but committing a mortal sin (a sin of serious matter). St. Paul says that those who are unworthy of receiving communion should not receive it, and being in a state of mortal sin is grounds for being unworthy of the sacrament (a sacrament is the visible sign or assurance that God's invisible grace is given and received). If I were to receive communion so as to show that I am in communion with the body of Christ, I would be causing scandal and lead people away from the faith who know of the things I have done. I would even be committing a scandal to myself since I know that I am not worthy to receive the Holy Eucharist in the state of mortal sin.

I agree! Well said...

If he gave her the eucharist he would have desecrated the body of our Lord, no Catholic priest on earth would give her communion.
Yes they would. Priests shouldn't but many would. You know the pope would

What Sin is she committing do you even know???
I want all churches to be this way.
Sadly won't happen.

Were all Gods children. Love thy neighber.
If she isn't married, then she should be able to receive communion! PERIOD!
A loving relationship between two consenting adults isn't nearly as "evil" as abusing children, covering up the abuse, and letting the abusers get off scot-free.

Beautiful World I fully commend you for your scholarship in the Quran. But really that’s small potatoes, compared to Jehovah’s many exceptions to that “rule”, and who can forget his biggest hit on mankind, the Flood, or his follow-up performance when he killed the first born children in Egypt. I can almost give you the Jesus guy, but even he said (and his followers predictably use against just about anyone they hate) “I come not to bring peace, but a sword.” (Matt 10:34)
Therefore, I see them all as “imposters”, (your word, not mine) or more accurately expressions of mankind’s need to understand his place in the bigger scheme. There’s nothing wrong with it. I was denied comunion for one year until I mended my life!.
And I just had to bow my head and obey!

I was 29, (1990) married by law, only, to the father of my 2 kids. In my country we get married by civil law and in a church. I was only married by law. My confessor told me "marry him in a church or leave him". I was not ready to do any of that. I was honest and I told him so and he responded:"So i can not absolve you.

So, yes, I had to mend my life before taking the body of my Lord! And I didn't make a scandal or tried to bring the church down because it would not bend to my caprice. Why is this woman even allowed to call herself catholic? She should be excommunicated.
It’s engaging in homosexual ACTS that is considered sinful. That’s official Church teaching.
I will say that she at least desires to live in a committed, monogamous relationship based on mutual love. That’s certainly preferable to a promiscuous lifestyle with many different partners.
Shaun Collins I bet she’s not even catholic
@@johncronin9540stop trying to justify her sin. Yes the Catholic Church has made many terrible mistakes but two wrongs don't make a right. Homosexuality was condemned by the apostle paul and in the old testament. So I suggest you repent of your wicked thinking.

Oftentimes they will receive a blessing instead
joseph jackson I thought Jesus died for our sins to be forgiven. John 3:3-8, 16.
Lucinda Bunda I’m guessing you don’t know about the old television show called, The Twilight Zone? Watch a few episodes if you can. The premise of the show was to question reality.
To have a priest questioned for practicing the teachings of the Catholic faith shouldn’t be questioned in the first place, but our relativistic world has turned morality upside down.
@@dizzybusy1 it was intended for Father. You have no idea what is going on in the Church and our salvation depends on it. I am not a tv fan. I would rather read traditional Catholic books on how to defend the teachings of my religion and apply them for my salvation and to those who are open to truth. Why don't you read ""LITURGICAL REVOLUTION Pope Paul's New Mass """ 3 Vols. by Michael Davies so you know how the upper echelon of the Roman Catholic hierarchy hijacked and destroyed our TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC LATIN MASS OF THE ROMAN RITE AND BLEED IT TO DEATH. DEATH TO THE LAITY WHO BECAME RELIGIOUSLY ANEMIC TO OUR ONLY WAY OF SALVATION, OUR POSTERITY, OUR GOD GIVEN GIFTS IN ORDER TO BE SAVED.
I ONLY WISH GOODNESS TO GOD'S ALTER CHRISTUS AND TO MEN OF GOODWILL.
Lucinda Bunda You know nothing about me. I answered with lightheartedness, similar to the original comment about priests in question who are just doing their jobs. I am well aware of what is happening to our church and am deeply grieved by what is still occurring.
It’s admirable you know so much about our Catholic faith. I’m in full support of what Fr. Nolan did. We need more priests who preach and practice the truth about Catholicism.
We support father Nolan. Viva Cristo Rei
Viva!
Yes full support for this great priest, God Bless him and also the judge lady
Judging by the comments a lot do. It's funny tye media is trying to turn this into something but the only ones that matter - the lay faithful - probably have all said a decade for the priest
Just a small correction it is Cristo Rey. But VIVA!!

This is a Good Shepherd.
We need more like this Priest, the truth we need
The Priest is a Pastor. (Copied by protestants for their ministers title) The Bishop is the Shepherd.
@@Anon.5216 A Bishop is a Priest

Praying for this great priest ✝️❤️✝️
Thank God for a priest willing to stand by church teachings. God bless him.
We stand by this priest who is faithful to the deposit of faith of the Catholic Church! Viva Christ the King!
A true hero! God bless him. He'll be in my prayers. This is sadly just the start of the persecution I'm afraid.
Even heterosexual couples who have married by law,yet have not blessed their union in the catholic faith, can't receive the Holy Eucharist
I could not receive the Holy Eucharist for 20 years until I married in the Church. Good for this young priest!!
I completely agree. I didn't go up to receive communion when I was cohabiting with my boyfriend at the time who is now my husband. I knew it was wrong.
That is the truth. Praised be God.
Thanks be to God that this priest is only concerned with doing the right thing - for his soul and the soul of the judge!
I praise you Fr Nolan, may God bless you and give you strength. We need more priest like you.
The priest is right...I can understand her frustration but you cannot change what God teaches. This priest has done nothing wrong...¡Viva Cristo Rey!
Thank you Father! Your standing up to the true Catholic doctrines
Thanks to this priest people
Are coming back to The Church

I'm not a Roman Catholic yet I support and pray for you Father Nolan! You're truly a servant of God because you stand with what the Scripture says. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always! VIVA CRISTO REY!
