Beautiful car, beautiful colors. I miss cars, and especially interiors, in colors other than gray.

Thank you. The colors and design of the old cars especially in the 50's give these cars character and a personality of their own.

My uncle owned a green and white 1955 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe St Regis 2 door hardtop back in 1969 when we visited him in McFarland, California. I was always a car guy and by 1969 here in Wisconsin there were no 1955 Chrysler’s left. Rust had consumed them all. What a cool car it was.

My grandma had one of these - kept it well into the ‘70’s, when her mechanic retired. I have great memories of riding in that car (I was born in 1960), especially as I got older and could appreciate how she was really using that Hemi on the hilly, twisty, rural roads of central PA! Thanks very much for sharing. BTW, I still think the one year only (?) auto transmission lever is WAY COOL!

When I was born in '55 my dad had either this model or something similar in blue. I recall 3 on the tree on his vehicle. Oddly enough about 6 yrs later he switched to Ramblers until 1970. Thanks for sharing as this is a beautiful looking car and I especially enjoy shots of dashboards from that era.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! If it was a 3 on the tree it was indeed a rare car. They made a few but the vast majority were automatics. You and I are about the same age. I was born in 56. I just turned 67 in January. Thanks for looking and commenting!

I had one of these in highschool same green had fac A/C and all power seat & windows leather interior - had a problem with the power steering would not turn to left with assist . Really well made good fit & finish still had the Briggs body company quality.

It's got a current NYS registration sticker, but an Alabama plate. Odd. My father bought a powder blue Windsor at the end of the '55 model year, right after I was born. Just a massive vehicle to ride in - esp. for a little kid like me. My grandfather was gifted a '55 New Yorker in 1960 - I remember the leather seats were cracking, but again, a beautiful car. Those taillights got cracked, though - we parked on the street in NYC. I'm guessing you don't park this near...anything. The gearshift lever on the dash was a novelty then and now. How the interior, the body, has not disintegrated by now without massive restoration is amazing. Our Windsor, being a cheaper model, did not have power brakes. I remember my mom had trouble getting used to the 62 Pontiac that replaced the Windsor and had power brakes...a lot of short stops were made.

The car was in NY and had just been inspected shortly before I bought it. I brought it to AL and of course registered it here, hence the AL plate.
I live in a very small town so I don't worry about parking. I mostly only drive it to cruise-ins and car shows with an occasional joy ride mixed in here and there. Take care and thank you for commenting!

I like green cars and haven't owned one. I have only seen a long wrecked '55 N.Y..DeLuxe in a gully, where a farmer put it to prevent erosion. It shared that fate with a '41 Chevy coupe and a '47 Studebaker Dictator.with an unknown V.W. Kombi.

My dad had a '56 blue New Yorker sedan that he loved. I was a young kid but I fondly remember going with him for a trade on a used '60 Dart Seneca in 1964. The poor Chrysler was rusting like hell in the Montreal road salt. I also remember him saying that the '56 had upgraded to a 12V system. Txs for the video, gorgeous car.
