One thing I wish they discussed is 529 target date funds. The Utah one in particular surprised me for its (seemingly) bad performance, considering Utah has been Morningstar Gold rated since the beginning.
I’ve seen people rush into 529 plans without realizing all the factors involved. Some states have plans with high fees or limited investment choices, and that eats into your savings. And if you end up moving states, it can complicate things if you’re not prepared

Simple...choose a broad index fund with the lowest expense ratio.
Why they do not allow regular stock trading in 529? The fee must be Zero.
