In the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion and the inescapability of their past - and their fate. -
I read the book more than 30 years ago. This show truly did justice to the book....if not more. Thoroughly enjoyed the 8 episodes.
Tbh I’m a Jamaican and I’ve never heard about this book so I went into watching this with no preconceptions and I want to say this was a masterpiece. TBH it was a random watch for me and I absolutely loved it
I read the book in 1986 and it left a deep impression in me. It has been glorious to see Macondo on the screen. They’ve nailed some of the characters, places, and events that until now have only existed in my imagination. Well done!
just finished this drama and really enjoyed Mother Ursula's character throughout, made me think of my own mum
Just finished! I'm dying! It's amazing, the photography, actors, colors, the scenario, costumes, ... impeccable. ♥️
I started crying watching this brought to life. This has been my favorite book for years. Also as a native person, I love seeing the representation on screen. More of this 🙏🏽
Already planning to rewatch the entire series! I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen - everything was so captivating. The way each element, from the visuals to the performances, comes together to create a fully immersive experience is remarkable. It truly provokes emotions and sparks the imagination. 100/10❣️❣️❣️
It is indeed for the whole world not just Colombia... Love from turkey
I watched the series over the weekend and I just want to thank the entire team, the performances, the scenery, the landscapes were excellent, they did not disappoint me, I had the day marked on my calendar... needless to say 💯yos, is one of my favorite books . Waiting for the second season!
This Nobel Prize winning book about the Buendia family in Colombia literally changed my understanding of the world when I was in my early 20s…. I pray they film it half as well as it was written ….
This is the most fascinating i watched in the last time ... camera work, colors, cast, all just play magnifiscent together! Big recomendation
Just finished today. Most wonderful TV show I have ever seen! I couldnt image how the book can be translated and here is what I see! Couldnt wait for the second part. I'm going back to read the book while waiting.
This review is coming from someone that never watches any series never ever. I have never read the book either, but I do know of its importance in literature..
That being said Netflix nailed it. Its hard to describe all the sentiment and emotions it provoked in me. At first I was wowed by the scenary, music, costumes and recreation of the town of Macondo. As more episodes went by I was like what the heck did I just see? So bizarre. Then i found myself immersed in all the magical realism everyone talks about. All those weird things are what makes this novel a masterpiece.
For someone who never watches series I can say it had me at the edge of my counch wanting to see more and more. I'm not sure how it compares to the book ,but thanks to the series i now want to read it.
This is how I felt
what an amazing series! Shame that Netlix is not promoting it enough
Está espectacular!!! Netflix se lució!!! Felicitaciones!❤
It's absolutely a masterpiece ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm glad that Nextflix is living upto what Netflix was supposed to be at the first place, not that 'new-age teen dramas' they have had happened to venture into.
It's so perect! No one thought it could be done! Thank you and congratulations to everyone involved. Cant wait for season 2 to complete the story.
Oh .... can't wait...the excitement is through stratosphere.....
Absolutely wonderful! One of best shows of recent years!! Highly recommended
I wonder why don’t they promote it more? It releases in 20 days and all they did was a teaser and a bts.
Because 100 Years Of Solitude doesn't need massive promo, the work and the fact that it's produced by his sons speaks for itself
@@simplysteph_ uhm, you do know what promos are for right?
I searched on Netflix, and by just writing 100 it wouldn’t como up
Probably cause Squid Games is releasing around the same time.
@@simplysteph_In a world that slowly ignores classics yet gobbles up smut, they should 😭
My favorite book of all time!
Can't wait to see it. I've read the book 2 times and it's just magical. Already excited for season 2😢
ESTÁ MUY CHÉVERE!!! 😆😆😆
Loved it.
it good to reminisce the past of how it looks like 10/10 perfect cinematography video visual all really award winning movie
1:49 I'm not ready for this part 😢
I like much the art cut of alex garcia lopez, it's so impressing. Great art cut in cinematic world. 👍
I have just finish season 1 on Netflix. I am a non Spanish speaking individual but I do have to agree, one of the biggest Live-action adaption from Latin American on one of the best novels to come from South America. I would love to see a live adaption of Paulo Coelho " The Alchemist " one day too
NICEEEEEEEEEEEE
Waiting ❤️💥
It looks interesting but I’m guessing that my heart will be broken if I watch it.
Netflix should delete Emilia Perez and promote this actual authentic Hispanic show from Colombia! ❤❤❤
Everyone of you in Nador I am gonna write about you.
Take a chill pill Ms Superficiality.
I see the yellow-orange color grading is firmly in place to tell us the story is taking place in a tropical, third world place
You do not read so much isn t you need to educate cultivate yourself more little man and travel more outside you little and tiny county in the countryside. If you think that about one of the important works of universal literature and one of the nobel winners you show us your lack of culture inteĺigence and even authentic true western knowledge about the wonders of world earth mankind and complex big ties between different nations countries cultures societies people civilizations geography botanics life history.
You're a fool
Too glossy
Be authentic
You go to Meca you are animal.
Started watching but had to stop. WAY too much animal cruelty for my liking. How did the film makers get away with this?? Have they never heard of CGI????
So do you think they actually killed a donkey?
