    Taken this exam 4 times and I tell you that this exact question is stopping me from passing as I could not understand it until now. I take the Scientific Foundations portion next Saturday. Big thanks man!

    Hi Matt, combining the calculations from both questions would mean that the cross country runner has to get up to 86% (2800 kcal from carbs/ 3256 kcal in total) of his daily calories from carbs which leaves only 14% for protein and fat. Is that realistic?

    Hi Matt, just out of curiosity could you make an argument for the activity factor to be 1.7? You mentioned being able to make a case for it to be either 1.8-1.9, but could you make a case for that as well, or is it too low of an activity factor?

  • @danielfendrich4138
    @danielfendrich4138 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do we determine the activity factor? Is it given in the question or do we make an accurate guess?

    • @TheMovementSystem
      @TheMovementSystem  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not sure of the layout of the exam. You may have to make your best guess if it seems very low activity level maybe 1.2 or if it’s very high maybe choose 1.8

    I really hate how we cant use a calculator during the exam. I'm getting math nightmares all over again lol.

      its laughable. Especially given the fact s&c coaches scope of practice doesnt include this in depth of nutrition knowledge.

    Do you have a rough estimate on how many CSCS questions involve calculations between nutrition, target heart rates etc etc?

      @TheMovementSystem  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not certain. You could get some idea of that distribution looking at the NSCS CSCS Detailed Content Outline

    where did you get the 100% in calculation for lean body mass?

    • @TheMovementSystem
      @TheMovementSystem  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone has a certain % fat mass such as 20% and a certain % lean mass such as 80%. The total between the two is always 100%
