I watched the Gervais special and as a religious person he made fun of my beliefs however I don’t want him cancelled, I don’t want him attacked, I don’t want his show pulled. It was just a joke. That’s how it should be.

Everything Ricky does is brilliant, his standup and his tv shows. Afterlife is the only thing I’ve seen where I’m crying with emotion and then laughing my head off. A true talent who’s not afraid of touching delicate issues.
That really was an awesome show. I was sad when it ended.

Now I create fucking playlists fo queue up whenever I’m working or driving anywhere. I created a playlist called ‘O&A for non-movie watchers’ because I haven’t seen a lot of the movies they’d talk about, or the actors they would be making fun of. Thank god O&A is archived.

@@HarshNerf hmm i never use the service, so iam not sure, its mostly intended for radio, as it targets people that have jobs like manual labor, truckers, etc that are not allowed, or have no posibility to listen/watch something other than radio.

I’m not saying he’s not confident or that at very least his public persona is not particularly humble but why else does he start making the conversation about something else? I think your confusing his character with an actual human being in a room with a bunch of other guys who aren’t as successful as he is. I mean I thought it was funny, but there’s also just a measure of decency to how he handled it. He doesn’t need clubs anymore and that’s fine but him throwing his dick around in a room
With other comedians like that would have only worked had he made it funny. It’s pretty clear here that he couldn’t think of a funny way to respond in that way so he took the conversation in a different direction. Agree to disagree but that’s how I saw it, and apparently so did six other people in less than forty eight hours…

I canceled Netflix recently, but I'm going to subscribe again on the day that Ricky's special is released, to support Ricky Gervais, and also Netflix sending a letter to their employees essentially asking them to consider alternative employment if they are going to be overly upset over no longer being able to dictate what other people should find funny or even be permitted to view.
People say they want equal treatment, and comedians make fun of people and things equally. That is true inclusion. Some people want special treatment, though -- to be exalted, to be above even jokes being made about them.
Comedy, however, is how we let our defenses down and take an honest look at ourselves. Some people are just terrified to take an honest look at themselves, and that's why they scream out in protest when they are asked to do so through the lens of comedy.
Let's all sit back and have a good laugh, and realize that humor is not passive-aggressive hatred in disguise. It's a way for us to come together and share a common thread of humanity, and it's the last thing we should be using as a way to further divide ourselves.
I'm more annoyed at him doing 4chan jokes and repeating material from his podcasts and 20 year old radio shows.

they are right when they talk about how the complaints actually make more people watch the specials, That's how I know there's a new awesome comedy special on netflix because the day after it's released an article pops up in my news feed about how outraged people are over dave chapelle or jimmy carr or ricky gervais's new special, immediately I rub my hands together in excitement and start looking forward to the end of the day when I can switch on what is likely going to be an epic hour and a half of uncensored absolute comedy gold
