Great footage Kevin👍🏻 I would NOT have enjoyed being a passenger on that flight😮
Bet there were a lot of soiled airplane seats😲!
If this were a Ryanair landing they would've gone through with it... It's completely normal for them.
😂😂 Yes nothing stops a Ryanair from landing , thank you for watching David 👍
Interesting
Wow truly skilled pilots but I’m still glad I wasn’t on that plane 🥴😖
Gosh there was no last minute alignment with the runway, together with a hard touchdown that was pretty lethal! Bhx tends to get alot of diagonal and cross wind due to the direction of the runway, leeds/bradford is another nasty airport for cross wind too.
Yes easy drive , watching it happen during our Livestream was shocking , and i'm sure a few passengers had squeaky bums, but the quick thinking of the pilots on board, ensured a safe landing on the second attempt thankfully. Thanks for watching easy drive 👍 ✈️
@@AirportAction the live airport shows on youtube are enjoyable, im just 4 miles from LBA but live on the runway32 departure path as they bank left, lba would make a good show as it gets bad crosswind
@@easydrive3662 Good evening easy drive, yes LBA would make for a good Livestream at some point 👍
@@AirportAction best in summer on a windy or wet day as the airport is much busier during summer months, the airport is known for some very interesting landings when windy on its 2250m long runway haha
@@easydrive3662 Thanks for the heads up easy drive , will bear that in mind 👍
The thought of a go around makes me shudder. Especially if the initial landing attempt was this bad!!!! And it wasn't THAT WINDY folks. Cmon.
Least he got it 2nd time round!
Yes must be a squeaky bum moment for sure , thank you for watching
HighFlyingBird82 👍
I think alot of them pilots come in too farst for conditions maybe
When it's gusty like this you need to keep the air speed a little higher for two reasons: firstly the wind might change direction (and I suspect this might be the case with a low level cross wind) in which case your airspeed can fall rapidly and dangerously (windshear) which might well have happened in this case as well and secondly keeping the speed up ensures you can initiate a go around faster if needed as your airspeed is already achieved and has not been reduced to the minimum for landing. The pilot did the right thing, in this instance it looks like a side gust tipping the aircraft was more the issue making the landing unstable. Great video isn't it 👍
The pilot needs retraining.
BHX is a fairly regular go around airport. I’ve personally been a passenger on two flights that have had a second attempt there. I think it’s because the runway isn’t really aligned with the common direction of the wind, as well as the ‘hump’ in the middle.
It does seem to be , we have witnessed quite a few over the years at BHX, thank you for watching DigitalDiabloUK 👍
The hump is nothing really to do with it but the 33° angle is
