My mistake as a Beginner Pagan was trying to form a Coven with a group of friends. I didn’t want to deal with the pain of doing the Craft alone and it’s a lot of work practicing solo. Long story short, it didn’t work out. We all had our different reasons and ultimately, we all went our separate paths and ways. Where I live, it is very difficult to find Green Witches so I was stuck practicing alone. It’s been over 20 years and a lot of hardships and disappointments, but overall it’s good to start by one’s self. In my personal opinion, if you practice the Craft alone for a time right, it builds a solid foundation. That foundation can be a really good rock just in case you do have to break off from practicing partners, a coven, etc. I hope this makes sense. Lovely video.

There is nothing like starting off alone and getting in tune with yourself in this path. While it’s ok to want community, never let your guard down, always keep yourself protected. ❤❤

I just randomly picked Aphrodite because my mom liked her and would ask her for little favors all the time. Imo the deities kind of choose you as much as you choose them. Some may not reveal themselves to you (for me this is something felt intuitively, when a deity wants to work with you it just clicks and you feel then gently OR strongly supporting you). Show them you care by keeping your alter clean and beautiful and giving them offerings, making playlists for them and spending time with them in meditation or in a natural habitat that reminds you of them. Honor them by taking part in activities under their domain. That communion with the divine is 70% of why I practice and 30% is casting spells and asking for blessings.

For crystals especially I highly recommend looking for items that are second-hand, perhaps found in estate sales, mercantile stalls, or thrift shops! Lots of cool rocks are available where you don't have to give money to an industry that is just as capitalistic and exploitative as anything else, if not worse.
i saw a crow after the loss of a loved one and that helped push further my path, i had already been spiritual for a little while and always felt connected to nature especially water but recent events made me feel like there was a higher force or spiritual guidance going on but like u said in another video, not an all powerful god that makes no mistakes
No matter what the topic is, things often get in the way of doing. Being in the broom closet for ~35 years actually helped me focus on my path since I couldn't accumulate physical stuff. I accumulated experiences instead. It is nice to be able to wear some silver pieces these days and have some wall art, but they're just nice to have vs must have (the best physical things are reference books!).
I'm also in the broom closet, both as a witch and Pagan. I've found that a minimalistic approach works out the best for me anyway. I think even in the future when I am able to be more open, I'll still be sticking with this approach.
My mistake was in the making everything fast and never put the love and time into making my things, like making my wand... I raced into it instead of making it with proper intent.
That's an easy one, if you're not a believer in any one of the numerous Abrahamic religions, IE Judaism, Christianity, Islamic, Catholic, Rastafarian then you're a Pagan. Peace😊✌️🏻
It takes time, thought and skills used in making alter tools. You don't get it all at once, normally. It's a growing process. Same with the books, clothes and jewelry. This is a way of life and something you grow into.
I love your take on developing skills. This is really a good practice to get into, especially if one of your end goals is to bring in more liquid currency. It would be counterproductive to spend money on decoration if you're trying to save and grow money.
There a Number 4 that I thankfully see a lot less of these days: An emphasis on power. A LOT of pagans in the 80s and 90s were too focused on magic as a universal shortcut, a coven as a group of followers, and divination as a source of *unquestioned* knowledge. A lot of that ended badly. People with a pound of intelligence and an ounce of wisdom cause a lot of problems for themselves and others.
Thank you for another timely topic. I have tried to focus more on the connection with nature and following my "intuition." But I have to admit that the last mistake you mentioned has been a trap I have fallen into a bit. Excellent food for thought and advice.

So I joined a Coven but found it distracting and so retained certain links with people but went back to doing whatever the Alfar/Elves guided me towards rather than trying to hard. It was a good lesson that nature works slowly and not in a linear way. x

Which is something I naturally fall into due to my tendency to overanalyse everything. However, I'm taking things a lot more slowly now and trusting that discoveries will happen when they're meant to. Now my focus is on channeling energy through creating in various art forms and finding innovative ways to make things magical. Even while being in the broom closet.

Thank you for another revealing video. For one reason, however, I am actually happy that people buy stuff. I have found everything in a forest, but if everyone did it, it would be a disaster. I am also happy that far most people go to churches and mosques. Ive read that in the ancient Roman Empire they had to prohibit people from collecting incense in forests, and pagan priests had burned down whole woods. For this reason I actually started to buy herbs in a local witchcraft shop, because our forest here is small and fragile.

Question - I've recently become interested in Norse Paganism, but I do believe in a Primary Consciousness/God. Is this a conflict with Paganism? I've only been recently researching into Norse Paganism and haven't found any sources answering this question. Any feedback would be welcomed.
