I’m NOT an early person either! My alarm goes off at 7am, but I generally stay in bed until the baby or toddler wake me up. Usually by 8am. My kids wake up naturally. Usually between 8 and 9. We generally start school around 10. 😊 We love our slow mornings. No need to rush.
I am so jealous of your kids sleeping in! My kiddos are younger than yours (ages 3-9) and they are all up and hungry by 6:30am. Thanks for sharing your routine.
Same boat here! I wake up at 7 at the earliest usually, rinse my face with water, open the curtains, and prepare my tea, while the water is boiling for tea, I stretch, then I put my tea over ice (which I put in the freezer the night before because our ice maker would wake the whole neighborhood! ) and will most times sit and journal, read, or watch TH-cam videos. It's my way of setting the tone and rhythm to the day. My son, 8, wakes up between 9-10 every morning. Daughter who is 2, usually 8-9. So, I've tried to stay on top of my rhythm so I have time to myself. :)
6:40- Let the dogs out (there are 3 of them). 6:50- make coffee and husband's breakfast. 7:00- make husband's lunch and pour his coffee. 7:10- Husband leaves, time for my coffee. 8:00- Milk the goat. 8:25- get the oldest 2 off to their band class. 8:35- shower and get dressed. 9:00- feed the puppy, the poultry, and the goats. 9:30- pick up the oldest kids from band. 10:00 start the school day. I don't eat until lunchtime.
Great video! I love seeing a homeschool mom that does things a little later in the day and doesn't get up and get the family up super early. I love the green shirt you are wearing! Where did you get it? Have a great day!
I have seen a lot of morning routine videos and hardly ever does anyone mention their hubby, i am a big believer in being a true helper to hubby:) thanks for your transparency:) I wake at 6 usually.. i would like it to be 5 or 530 but like you.. my hubby always wants to stay up late!!
You are such a gem! Thank you for sharing who you use for workouts. I have an umbilical hernia that hinders me from doing workouts pre baby times. So I found a playlist of here that I hope will help relieve me while trying to workout some! I have battled a lot of stuff in the past five years that slows me down so just hearing your words comforts me. All we can do is the next thing! We do a mix of unschooling life and Charlotte mason and just now getting back into “formal lessons”. It is rough going in the beginning but always fruitful by week 2 or so.
Aw! thank you for sharing! Yes, I love Nancy Taylor's core repair workouts! She so helpful with that. And yes, just do the next things! Great job, mama :)
We definitely start later. Usually around 10am. I let my son sleep because if he's sleeping he must need rest. I just get my other chores done and have some me time before he wakes up. It works for both of us.
In high school I was tested and placed in the gifted advanced math classes. The school, however, scheduled my math classes for the first and second period. That's when I realized, I am not a morning person . . . still not a morning person!
I wish my kids would sleep in! My 8 year old burst out of her bedroom the second she heard me get up at 6:30am (and she’d gone to sleep around 10pm 😬).
LOVED this video, Ash!!! You’ve already told me all this stuff, but listening to it again is such an encouragement to me!! If YOU can do it-SO CAN I! 😁 And with that-I AM OFF TO BED! Lol ❤ Thank you for all your wonderful videos sister!
@@JoyfulNoiseLearning oooh! Lovely! I used to have a long haired Chihuahua named Jackson who passed away about 2 years ago. He lived to be 16. Anyway, what a cutie pie yours is 😍
We're still trying to establish our rhythm for this school year, I was letting them sleep in but their sleep was going on too long so we're going to have to do a firm wake up time (they were pushing sleep time too far back too, no matter what time I put them to bed.)
Good stuff! As the nights have gotten longer, I am deciding that I really want a daylight clock-- it really sounds like a nice natural way to get up. I mean, it works in the summer, right?
I’m back-and-forth letting them sleep in just thinking about when they’re older they need to be up dressed ready and Bible was read and ready for school by a certain time for to get used to the real world. So who knows
I see what you are saying and I get it! My thoughts are they will have time for that eventually when they start getting jobs and things. For now we get up if we have to be somewhere (co-op, church), but I also think they need good rest at this age!
Lol, that’s Ginger, the Princess of the house 😂 We inherited her when Josh’s grandma passed several years ago. Or we call her TD - Tiny Dog. She’s more like a cat than a dog, though.
Kids that age sleep about ten hours. If they get up at nine am or later they must’ve gone to bed around eleven or later. Not eight thirty like you said. I’m sure they’re on screens and staying up late. That’s your decision to not prioritize their health and long term emotional well being but don’t lie about it
They don’t have screens in their room or in their beds. I know all about what screens do to kids, so we already limit them. The boys go to bed at 9, and get up at 8:30. My 13 year old goes to bed 11 or later, I mentioned that. She likes to read, draw, or crochet in her room at night. She’s super creative!
Ashley is a dear friend of mine and she doesn’t lie about things. She’s one of the most honest people I know. Please choose kindness and not criticism. Thank you.

This sounds great! Sounds like your kids are later risers like mine!

Freedom to adapt, YESSSSS🎉❤
Loved seeing your morning routine❤❤ Simple yet prepares ya for the day❤
Thank you so much, sweet friend!

Thanks much! I got it at Good Will 😆 I normally wear it on Saint Patrick's Day, but seemed like something fun to wear this day.

Aww, thanks so much! It's an honor being a helper to him. :) I know a lot of the gals in the playlist also do morning routines to serve their hubbies!

Ummm...love the transition getting ready👊
Thanks! 😊
This was awesome! So glad you shared it! What a productive morning!
Thanks, Anna! I always feel like there's room for improvement, but it's nice to hear encouragement from others!

Thank you, Sweet Tori!!! You can do it!! Well, maybe tomorrow and not today 😂
You have a Papillon! 😍 they’re so cute! (Thanks for sharing your routine too, lol)
She's a long-haired chihuahua and papillon!

Oh, I get that! A firm wake up time sounds like a good idea! Have you tried it yet? How's it going?
I let me kids sleep too. They just have to be up by 8:30

Oh, great idea! I would totally use something like that if I woke up after my husband.

I didn’t realize you had a Little dog
