education in shillong not that as great as that of guwahati but people went their cause of trend ..as educational institutions are kind of trending there cause of fashion..their education no where near the education is guwahati
Shillong should be cultural and tourism hub of northeast rather than Education because Guwahati has better univiersities than most other cities of India not just Northeast, like IITG, AIIMS G, IIITG, GU, Cotton University, NLU G, etc

Compare the development of human innovation, Technology Upgradation instead comparing nature and environment between these two cities......for me shillong is no where close to Gauhati in terms of development..... Half of the development of shillong is purely credited to Britishers and not by our present leaders...... But the people of shillong is so caring about nature (They are nature loving persons and very helpful also)....in Shillong, Khasi is my favorite tribes, also they are most skilled among other tribes.....
well they care about nature but mostly cause that's their livelihood.most of their income came from the tourism industry ..
