This song is probably the most horrifying sequence in the entire series thus far. We're getting blatant confirmation that Angel's entire career as a porn star, something he pretends to be proud of in public, is built around him being abused and violated in full view of the camera for all to see. And the toll it's taking on his mental health is heartbreaking to witness.
I think he is genuinely proud of some of his work. Or at least he tells himself he is. It's just that Val seems to thrive on making the situation as worse as possible

My partner did not want to believe me and fought me on how Angel dust enjoyed what he did and want to continue. That he is like this at heart and loves his life on doing these things. As people who want to be a sl- and angel dust was happy for it all. I repeatedly told them No and how he was forced and hated every single bit of it. That he hates what he gotten himself into and want to be saved from it all and no longer be used for such things. It all shows in the song addict how much angel dust hated it. My partner still stuck to what they said and said he clearly enjoys his life. Until hazbin hotel came out and they saw this episode. They realized how messed up and f- it all was. A lot of people chose these types of life without wanting to. I dont get why they believe how people express their love sl- ttness and think they enjoy hurting their bodies and disrespecting it. Sure there might be genuine people who do. But most of the time at the end of the day most people want to rip their skin off or they really just never liked it at all. I dont get why they believe ppl are genuinely do this on basis.. At least they can finally see the truth
There's so many examples of people living like this in real life maybe not to this extent but something similar. I know I frequently disassociate just to get by & face reality. As a foster youth I consistently float between reality & my personal reality I made for myself just to cope with society & not having a family or support system. I use w**d to heighten that reality and in turn I try to recreate it. The idea of being alone gets so overwhelming sometimes that I need to dissociate and find anyone to be near just so I don't feel alone. Hopefully now that I'm driving I can go out and actually make a decent group of friends were I feel comfortable enough not to dissociate anymore

In the case of Fizzarolli with Mammon, it helped that he had the support and unconditional love of Asmodeus (who is pro-consent and pro-workplace safety and that much sexier for it) when he gave his two-minutes notice. With Angel and Valentino, however, I would highly recommend looking into the nature of toxic/abusive relationships, and why they're so difficult to get out of, especially when substance addiction is involved.
Angel is under contract and Valentino owns his very soul. Not to mention that Val is a user and abuser who keeps Angel addicted to this lifestyle and doesn't allow him to just leave that easily.

I think it would help you and anyone else who comes across this thread to understand what is going on with Angel and Val.
