I thought about giving up several times this year.... Like there are so many smart and skilled people in this field and the standards keep getting higher. But ultimately, I decide to give my best another year and see what'll happen. Cheers, Egor. And happy holidays!
your videos are helpful and criminally underrated . I'm learning seo as a new hobby , when i'm confident i want to boost your channel as a thanks for all the insightful videos
Thank you! And two weeks ago, i requested! People often say that data science is almost the same as statistics. Can you upload content explaning why data science is still closely related to statistics? When can i see this content?
Do you reckon having a maths and econ degree will help break my foot in the door? I originally was gunning for the finance route however after my internship im not too sure it’s something I want to do. Not really sure if I can pivot at this stage though
@@egorhowell That makes sense. If you had to estimate, what percentage of people that you have worked with tend to have a masters degree? It would be great also if I could connect with you on linkedln?
In the "Interviews are different to the job" section, you talk about learning to play the game..... And the common meme about leetcode used by tech companies. But you also tell us that Data Science Interviews dont need leetcode. But you dont tell us whats the leetcode equivalent for Data Science Interviews?

Yes maths and econ is a good background to have!
@ would you reckon a masters is necessary to break in given the current job market? Thank you for the help by the way!
A masters in STEM subject defo helps. It doesn't guarantee you will get a job though. And no its not necessary either
@@egorhowell That makes sense. If you had to estimate, what percentage of people that you have worked with tend to have a masters degree? It would be great also if I could connect with you on linkedln?
like 50%
Is a degree or masters essential even if you have the math and programming skills?
Hey, its not essential no. But mos people learn the maths and coding skills through their degree
so, is leetcode necessary for data science interview?
yes and no, not to the same extent as in SWE interviews
In the "Interviews are different to the job" section, you talk about learning to play the game.....
And the common meme about leetcode used by tech companies.

But you dont tell us whats the leetcode equivalent for Data Science Interviews?
The is some leetcode but rarely. The equivalent would be a case study or live coding interview
