    Completely agree on the lack of neutral or cool toned foundations for lighter skin. I fall into the Light-Medium category and I have only been able to find one “ foundation” that perfectly matches me…..Fenty Skin Tint. And while I love it for Summer, I would love to find something with a bit more coverage for Winter.
    I walked around Sephora one day trying to color match to no avail. Everything had that peachy undertone or yellow!
    Anyway! This looked great on you. Thanks for another great video!!!!

      Oh that is so frustrating my friend! ❤️ I've been there SO many times (pretty much any time I pick up a Laura Mercier Foundation... 🥹) In fact when I saw your comment, I tried to start mentally going through neutral shades I know of to try to help! I don't know if you've tried any of these, but the new KOSAS foundation has some really pretty neutrals in their line, as well as some of the SMASHBOX foundations. The SALT NY Sneaky Balm has some amazing neutrals in a cream / balm form. As far as Drugstore goes, Revlon Colorstay has some pretty neutrals, shade 202 of the L'OREAL Pro Glow foundation has a gorgeous neutral undertone in a light shade. The Missha M BB cream specifically shades 21 and 23 are super neutral (almost look gray at first, until they melt into the skin, then they are really lovely!) And as far as powder goes, this Clinique loose powder shade 20 of course , and for pressed powders, I love the Zuzu Luxe (you can find on AMAZON) dual powder foundation, that I use as both a powder foundation, or just as a finishing powder. I hope this helps! 🤗 And I'll keep searching for those neutrals as I continue on with my channel!

    I’m “vintage” and I really miss the bronzing gel and the apricot coulour rub. Like from decades ago. Also, I got a Black Honey PENCIL liner that I adored. It came in a GWP and I used it to a stub. It was very different from the Black Honey liner in the pot. I loved that pencil. Also there was a glowy finish pressed powder. I need that back. It was better than Hourglass

    Cliniue has several foundations that work well for me and I've enjoyed them very much. When this one released, I was beside myself with glee--it looked perfect for my older, drier skin. It was a bit discouraging to see just how awful it looked on me, though. Since then, (it's been well over a year since I purchased it), it has just sat on my desk and vanity... mocking me. ;) After watching this video, I was inspired to give it another chance, making sure to hydrate and prep the skin very thoroughly; and... it was better. Not great, but much better. My next experiment will be to mix it with a little bit of more hydrating foundation and try again. Thanks for this great video which may well have rescued this product from being a dust-collector in my foundation arsenal. 😍

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I'm so glad you were able to give it another shot, and I hope that it will work better as a "mixer" as I know how frustrating that is to have a bottle sitting there mocking you! 🥹 One thing is for sure, there are several "serum" type foundations I have tried this year, and, in my opinion, (almost) none of them have been as hydrating as I would *Imagine* they *should* be from the name. I don't know if that makes sense, but for example... when I tried the Lancome serum "glow" foundation the other week, I thought for SURE it would have a finish similar to the L'OREAL Pro-Glow...(which both looks and feels moisturizing on the skin.) But unfortunately, it just felt, and looked dry on me. I think that's why I was maybe a little more mentally prepared for this one, because even though it said "serum" I thought.... hmmm. these rarely turn out to be moisturizing or maybe I should say as glowy as I think they should be... it is strange though. This year in particular I feel like most of the foundations that have come out have been more matte than usual... even the ones that seem like they are "labeled" to seem more moisturizing.. or maybe my skin is just drying up like a raisin?!! 😂 Anyway, Thank you so much for telling me your experience with it!! ❤️ Have a great weekend Brynda! 🤗

    Hi I came across your video because I purchased all 3 of these Clinique products recently and I was wondering if you had these side effects: skin tightening especially around the mouth. I’m thinking maybe I’m allergic to something in the makeup? I’m so bummed because I really like the way it looks when I first apply it and it feels so tight after 1 week 😢 but I’m definitely going back to Ulta and question this. Have a Beautiful day! ❤

      @foundationlady ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ali! 🤗 Thanks so much for your question, and I'm so sorry the CLINIQUE is giving you unwanted reactions! ❤ I personally didn't have any issues with the foundation, concealer, or powder causing any dryness, but there definitely WERE times when I worked for CLINIQUE when I would try a product that was supposed to be very moisturizing, and it didn't feel moisturizing to me once it dried. SO I can totally empathize! 💕Have you tried it with a moisturizing primer underneath? I really love the NYX hydra Touch one... or maybe it's just not your cup of tea? Which is totally fine too! I think you are absolutely doing the right thing by taking it back if you don't love it! ULTA has a great return policy, and you deserve to wear products that make you feel wonderful! 🥰 If you have time, I'd love to hear an update on what you decide to do with it! 🤗

    I tried their Refresh & Hydrate foundation (not sure if that’s the correct name but I know it’s close 😕).
    The gals at Ulta tried 5 different shades. This was back when the stores were starting to reopen after Covid closings. The sample tubes of everything were gone.
    Anyway, by the time I drove there & back 4 times, I spent as much in gas that I spent on a tube of makeup.

  • @marielle7505
    @marielle7505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I totally agree with you. Clinique had great foundations, I tried quite a few of them through the years. Maybe even all of them, I don't know. Not one fail. Lovely, lovely products. However, I too struggle to find a perfect shade. I have found shades that were decent enough, but the shade range is confusing to me. I don't know if the names/numbers are the same in the US, but in Europe they are confusing. I like it when a shadename of number gives you a guide. Like: light neutral 2. Or deep warm 8. Or light with peachy undertones. Something like that. Clinique doesn't offer me that. There's too much guessing about dept and undertones, and I don't like that. For example the concealer you used: shade Breeze. What the h*ll is that? What shade is a Breeze? Is it light? Warm? Cool? Dark? We don't know, because the shadename means nothing!
    It's a shame, because I do otherwise love Clinique. I very much appreciate that they don't add perfume.
    That sounds like an interesting job you used to have. I'm always open to stories you want to share!

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! ❤️ I completely agree with you on the naming, and numbers! One thing that used to REALLY throw me when I worked there, was that they have a lot of foundations (or at least used to) in opaque bottles, so I couldn't see the actual shade. Then bottles would get put back on the display in a haphazard order, and I 'd be searching through ten different foundations trying to find the right shade.... that was always a bit of a nightmare to me, as I hate wasting people's time!

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Tabitha! 🤗 I RELATE girl! Isn't that so frustrating to have your foundation come off on your glasses?? I definitely think the powder helped with this one, but it wasn't COMPLETELY foolproof. I find that matte foundations tend to hold up better to glasses than creamier, serum-type formulas... There are a few ways I cheat this a bit.... 1.) I either put the TINIEST bit of foundation around where the glasses hit.... 2.) I just do a matching powder Foundation around the glasses part, instead of whatever foundation I'm wearing that way (sometimes referred to as the "patchwork" foundation technique... or 3.) use a specialty setting spray... a new one I've gotten that is the best I've used so far in keeping foundation from rubbing off on clothing is the "Melanie Mills Hollywood Super Lite Long Lasting setting spray" It's a Hollywood secret used to keep makeup ON ... until it's washed off. I hope this helps! ❤️ My apologies for taking so long to respond. We had a death in the family, and I've been taking some time off. ❤️

  • @Noychooz

    Hey girl! I found this video as part of my quest to find a solution to my problem with this powder, which is the shade! I also took the lighest shade, 20, but on me - it looks Greyish😢 especially on the under-eyes. My skin is more fair than yours. My under-eye area is almost transparent which makes it appear very blue(-ish?). Even when applying the powder after using my kick-ass Bobbi Brown corrector+full coverage concealer - it's still Greyish and takes away that freshness we aim for. I just watched a Clinique review by Allie Glines and on her skin this powder appeared brownish. 🤷 I REALLY wanna keep using it cuz its a great powder, very reliable. I don't have to set my face during the day and I live in Southern Israel, in the very hot Desert area. I'm wondering if there's a way I can Maybe mix it with a more pink powder to balance it out. Plus, it wasn't cheap.. Mehhh.
    What do you think?

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello in Israel! ❤️🇮🇱❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me using the Clinique powder! I do find that it is deeper than my other loose powders, and sometimes avoid it when I'm wearing an extra light foundation. I think you have a great idea though to try it with a different powder! Have you ever tried the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder? I wonder if you tried mixing a bit of the lightest shade with some of the Clinique if it might mix to a better shade for your under eye area? It's definitely worth a shot, and I'd love to hear how it turns out if you decide to try experimenting with it! ❤️ Worse case scenario, you could always use it on the areas of your face where you might use contour (for example use a cream contour, and then use this powder over it to set it, avoiding the "highlighted parts of your face.) I hope this helps! 🤗 And on a completely unrelated note, one of my close friends just went on a vacation to Israel and LOVED it! She brought back a ton of pictures and I thought it was just so beautiful! 😍
