    I like how when you were adding grooves with the sea shell, the music got noticeably more groovy. Your shenanigans are not wasted on me.

    Love it!! You make it look easy, which I know it isn't, but I am willing to give some of these a try. I LOVE the crackle, I love all the zesters and graters. I especially love the quilted vase, which I'll just bet is one of the most difficult. Right now I am making a simple bowl and want something different to texture it, and now I can't decide which one to try!! Thanks.

    i loved the quilting effect the buttons just finished it off and last week i played with my first use of sodium silicate, i could have lots of fun with that. mini disaster and my almost finished pot suddenly left the wheel denting part of the wheel, was able to round the upper edge with a yougurt pot and a fellow potter sugested it looked like a smile and that i should dab a flash of red like lipstick, when I mentioned I could add teeth, 2 laughted, sadly the rest just looked and shook their heads.lol

    I don’t do pottery yet (although it’s what I want to do, but I’m poor) but I do sculpt with things like sculpey and one thing I do is to take a few pieces of clay around with me and try to see what Different textures I can get out of different objects I come across. You can’t always bring the texture to you so I figure it’s just as worthwhile to bring the clay to the texture.

    • @gnarbeljo8980
      @gnarbeljo8980 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's actually the best technique! If you make a disc or wheel shape and roll it across whatver texture and bisque fire it, tgen thread a wire through and make a handle (or just tape it into one) you can texture any surface seamlessly and have a permanent tool to recreate whenever.
      It also gives you thr exact texture instead of the reverse doing it with the clay tool.
      Btw if you're poor, look at primitive firing techniques for very interesting ways to fire in your yard almost free. Like pitfiring or potfiring. Clay is pretty cheap, just mix it with alot of grog or sand if using primitive firing, and make your peices in even thickness.

    • @Angels-3xist
      @Angels-3xist ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Go and get clay from nature and fire your creations in nature. You don't have to be rich dear to do ceramics.

    • @Angels-3xist
      @Angels-3xist ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Taichientaoyin I think your outlook is a really good one. So much of working with ceramics is repurposing and cycles of life and earth and it’s important to see opportunities even when there might be obstacles. Thankyou for your advice.

    • @Taichientaoyin
      @Taichientaoyin ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Angels-3xist I plan to do it myself in the near future. Here in TH-cam there are channels dedicated to this kind of ceramics. Ancient ceramics and les expensive too. I do have to convince my parents in law to let me fire my creations in their yard 😄
