Obvious Kano main here, but it aint as random as you think. The dude isnt your everyday jobber, hes king jobber. Lore wise he's a key figure for a lot of the events in game. He saved Kabal, defeated the Shokan during the outworld civil war, stole Shinnok's amulet, rebuilt the cyber Lin Kuei, and destroyed the main special forces HQ
He did it in mkx comics when Kuai Liang was hunting down Sektor

Kano is pretty strong too, imo
I actually really like that despite Liu Kang trying to make a better universe and changing the fortunes of people certain aspects still take place.
- Kuai Liang still gets his scar and becomes enemies with Bi Han who himself goes down a darker path.
- Mileena and Baraka both become Tarkatans even though Liu Kang had made the universe in a way that Tarkatans as a race wouldn't even exist.
- Kenshi still becomes blind but bonds with Sento.
- Shao becomes a warlord despite initially starting off a loyal general for the legitimate betterment of Outworld.
- Jerrod still dies and becomes a soul within Ermac.
- Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, despite being specifically given meanlingless lives still acquire access to powerful sorceries and become pains in everyones ass.
Obviously there was some manipulation going on with some of these situations but even then its like the universe is steering certain events towards specific outcomes.

It's outright stated in MK11's ending for scorpion that hanzo is destined by superior forces (greater than kronica's power) who are making sure he'll end up losing his family, no matter how many times he tries. And in smoke's ending, hanzo is already comming from the slums trying to survive, alone

He tries to make a perfect timeline where his wife and son aren’t killed, but he still fails to do so. After eons he finds out that there are titans besides the titan of time, which kronika was.
Mk11 arcade endings are supposed to be canon as every single mk character became a titan of time in their own timeline in mk1

Johnny cage and kung lao were my favorites since mortal kombat 2 (1993 game) now i wasnt born when it was made. I was born 2010. Mortal Kombat 2 was one of my very first games ever and the first fighting game i still play it today. On my 7th birthday, my dad went to the store and bought me the sega genesis 2017 edition. He introduced me to mortal kombat and taught me how to do my first fatality(→→↓↑ with johnny cage) and so i always played this game all my life.
I actually hoped that Bi - Han would be a hero in this timeline, I don't care too much about noob saibot. But if they made Bi - Han betray Scorpion and Smoke I expect Mileena to do the same in the next one. It's only fair.

i liked it more when they came from seperate clans cause then they had a reason to hate each other and ik Bi-Han creates his own clan when you finish the story but the idea of them being arch enimies from diffrent blood lines makes it seem better

or his wife and clan come later in the story. Hanzo was never the founder of the clan and Scorpion could be a mantle like Subzero is and Hanzo could become the new scorpion under kuai liang tutelage

Takeda = Hanzo - fantasy that will remain so until it is officially confirmed.
Hanzo appears in endings as an orphaned child recruited into the Shirai Ryu. Takeda in the DLC is just Kenshi's son. More than likely he's just time displaced.

Okay, I gotta give respect to Bi-Han for that feint. Though, he could've gone for a thrust to the chest while Quai Liang was holding his empty hand. He had like 3 seconds to stab him befor Quai Liang noticed. But yeah, Quai Liang is still relevant for the plot

In fact, in the comics that precede Mortal Kombat XI it is said that it was Kuai Liang himself who made the cut using one of Ravik's cursed daggers. For some reason they changed this for the game
History repeats itself in different eras brother against brother
In the MK universe there is plenty of events that must happen no mater what and are imposible to avoid, like kuai liang scar in the eye, bi han becoming noob saibot, bi han and kuai liang rivalry, kenshi getting blind, etc.

I prefer the term “fixed point.” It can’t be changed or undone.
I like how mortal Kombat 1 goes over the way characters got scars or other stuff like Kenshi he got his eyes stabbed out and that’s why he was wearing a mask in the other games and I like how Kung Lao got his new hat and how Raiden got the lightning and thunder powers
This story line is gold
