Comment your thoughts below! I didn't discuss side worlds in this video but I would likely put Wysteria between Marleybone and Krok and for Grizzlehiem the difficulty varries greatly between GH and WT so I would put GH after Mirage and WT after Karamelle.
Celestia's difficulty jump from Dragonspyre is the reason why I absolutely adore the world. Also the change in scenery from lava and death everywhere to underseas with Astral imagery is just peak. It's my favorite transition between worlds in the entire game.
Honestly, I did find Lemuria harder than Karamelle, I only done it on my Ice and I still had Darkmoor + Cabal gear but I felt like my gear was falling off compared to how hard hitting and tanky some enemies were be. I know you didn't include side worlds but I think Wintertusk is probably top 5 for me? Granted that's because I like to do Wintertusk before Dragonspyre (Think on my Balance I got to Wintertusk while I was at Marleybone lol) . Pre-Arc 2, Wintertusk is incredibly tough because you're not strong enough to really take any hits and you die if anyone crits. Wintertusk is probably mid tier if you do it at its intended level on release (post Celestia, with Waterworks gear).
Yeah the list is also prob school dependent to some extent, I think Lemuria can be more annoying than Karamelle overall outside of those hard bosses in Karamelle. Also agree with the WT assessment.
If we include side quest bosses lemuria goes up the list significantly. I made the mistake of picking up the Power Draconian quest and don't think it will ever be completed
One thing that's always annoyed me a lot is this idea that "Avalon is a difficult world" since pretty much everybody seems to consider this world anywhere from difficult to impossible. I really enjoyed myself while playing through Avalon, and it still remains by far my favorite world in the game. However, one thing I noticed about the world was that there was never really a fight that I was in that much danger of losing. I played through it for the first time on my Fire wizard, and the ONLY fight I lost the first time around was the Jabberwock, since I had no idea it was completely immune to fire. The moment I figured that out and switched to prisms, it was smooth sailing from there. Young Morganthe's really only difficult as a death wizard and the Pendragon is easy to defeat solo. The only other fights that were a struggle were the Black and White Dragon double boss and the one side boss that was fire and deleted prisms, but you really just had to outlast them. I can understand where some complaint of difficulty could come from, since the Jabberwock deals a lot of damage and has fire immunity, while Young Morganthe prevents prisms from death wizards, as well as Avalon being the first world to introduce critical chance for minions and also critical block later in the story. Sure the average fight's difficulty is spiked quite a bit compared to Zafaria, but there's more to consider than that when determining a world's difficulty. A world that can be completely soloed (even without Death) quite easily will always be easier than a world where you have to hit team-up for one or more fights. That being said, it still can take a moment to defeat most bosses but their selection of spells and overall damage usually means any school has a fair chance of winning fights and even completing the entire world on their own.
Yeah makes sense, that's partly why it's the shortest section in the vid. Alot of the game is very easy without many worlds having memorable bosses and Avalon mainly got its placement from the amount of bosses it has alone without much else to say about it besides Jabberwock. If I had to make any changes on the list I'd prob put Karamelle above it and have Avalon at #7 bc Karamelle has more memorable bosses.
I can't really speak on Selenopolis yet since I can't afford to unlock it yet and/or do that area of Krokotopia yet. I wouldn't really classify Selenopolis a world per se more like an area within Krokotopia, because you can't access Selenopolis through the World Door. Other than that, I think you did a great job on the video.
Ty! I mainly just classified it as a world bc KI made the unfortunate decision to have it be required content, otherwise I wouldn't have had it on the list ngl 😭
Azteca (and arc 2 generally) is difficult in the worst ways. It is completely unengaging and repetitive with bosses that don't make you think, but instead stat check you. I love Wallaru and really all of arcs 3 & 4, because they completely flip the style of difficulty around to interesting cheats that force you to engage with the game
the only world i would strongly disagree with is Marleybone bc the last 3 dungeons are more difficult than both mooshu and krok combined, i'd probably put it at 15. otherwise this list is valid
I would actually switch Dragonspyre and Celestia. Its in celestia normally where you get access to the 7 pip aoes, and the trend of blade - > blade -> aoe starts that kinda just demolishes the worlds upto Azteca where feints and other buffs start to be required. I generally find Celestia to be one of the easiest worlds in a playthrough due to that, and ive quested through it nearly 20 times. Also the shadow Jabberwock u mentioned is a mirage boss. The one in empyrea is a lot easier with his meteors hitting for less than 1k damage. It also makes me sad seeing a list like this when you see how worlds have been nerfed. Like Mirage test realm was on a completely different level, it got nerfed so hard when it went live.
Mirage used to be hard. They nerfed that world so much it’s almost hard to believe. The first boss went from 20k health to 7k health. Like that’s insane. They shouldn’t have made it so easy. It’s too boring now.
Yes it’s sad, I remember Azteca bosses having 23k on average. They had more then krysalis bosses at the time. I preferred when the game was harder and also we had really good spells that weren’t nerfed like they are now.
Fr! I though that playing Wallaru for the first time was very enjoyable and I think Novus did a good thing introducing more PvE players to Pierce as an important stat when it wasn't really important before
Good video but missed Darkmoor, Kembaalung, and Wysteria, although not technically mainline worlds, if you're going to include Selenopolis then might as well include these too.
I only did mainline worlds (and Selenopolis since it's required), I'd prob put it between Marleybone and Krok. I said that in an earlier comment but it might've gotten buried so ty for reminding me to pin it!
Hot take, the game isn't hard. It just grinds your patience to the ground. Plus it's mostly luck based, down to the cards you draw, and the vague damage range you give and receive.
I think that that's what most players think after all of the nerfs to all of the hard worlds like Mirage. Wallaru and Selenopolis are actually kinda hard compared to the rest though.
@@Firestarter_101 They're only difficult because bosses have absurd cheats. I hate cheats that just shut down entire playstyles, like if you're playing a fire and you're fighting a boss that cheats on DoTs it's miserable. No it's only "difficult" because you have to grind for gear, pets, spells, and pray that RNG doesn't mess up your card draws and damage input/output. And I'd argue if you have to make a game "Cheat" to be difficult, then it's probably not a good fight ngl. Soloing is difficult, but the minute you got a friend, in an MMO btw, the difficulty falls apart.
@@chaozgaming8565 Ty for leaving the comment, might go on a bit of a yap fest so sorry in advance 😭! Imo the cheats are part of the fun! Cheats kinda have to shut down certain playstyles to add variety because 90% of the game is Blade + Feint + AOE which is why the game is super easy like you said. Alot of people want KI to nerf that playstyle to make the game more challenging but others would be mad about change so they don't. If cheats weren't a thing then KI would prob just keep making every boss a health sponge like in Azteca where it's just annoying because all you need to stack an extra feint or two and thee main challenge is just how long the fight itself is. Cheating bosses is something that makes wiz combat unique and the most memorable bosses in the game are the ones that do cheat imo! You aren't necessarily required to grind for the best gearsets or pets either, it can be fun to make your own challenge by running sub-optimal setups, I know some people who do this and think it's more fun/challenging! Wizard City: Very Easy Krokotopia: Easy (but long due to lack of AOE) Marleybone: Easy (except last dungeon) Moosho: Very Easy Dragonspyre: Medium Celestia: Hard Zafaria: Easy (with Waterworks Gear) Avalon: Medium/Hard Azteka: Let's not talk about this please... This is mostly accurate but I’ll list my thoughts too. I’ll sort them based on the worlds that left the most impact instead of every single one. From most difficult to least. *Arc 1:* - Dragonspyre is definitely one of those worlds where soloing is pretty difficult for just the average player. You would have an easier time soloing if you had maybe crowns gear and a perfect pet. The enemies definitely jump up in health as do the bosses as well. For a level 40-50 wizard who on average probably has about 30-40% damage and around 15% resist as a middle ground. Dragonspyre poses a decent challenge for its level. - Most of the other Arc 1 worlds are manageable but definitely Marleybone and Mooshu pose the most challenge when it comes to certain dungeons if you are soloing. Aside from that most of the worlds in Arc 1 are rather easy to solo. WC and Krok are easy worlds. *Arc 2:* - Khrysalis and Azteca are honestly interchangeable here in terms of most difficult but I’m going to give it to Azteca for this one. Azteca definitely feels more difficult simply because as a level 80-90 wizard you’re rocking about an average of 70-90% damage. Most bosses in this world (at least as I remembered them) had over 20k-28k health, so you had to really make use of every blade and trap to dish out the most damage you could. Minions also had higher health with some elites I think having 3k health or more. I think by now the health got nerfed a bit, but it definitely was high back then. - Celestia is a huge jump in difficulty. Coming into it from Arc 1 can be a real eye opener. Enemies sport more health so it takes a bit more to blade up and kill with aoe. Enemies also start utilizing crit, which means regular minions can crit on you. Most wizards at this level have close to about 2k-3k health (Storm wizards probably have a bit less), so having a storm minion crit a stormzilla on you and deal about 1,000 damage easily is wild for celestia. - Avalon follows third here as it is mostly doable as by this point wizards have adjusted to the difficultly spike introduced in Celestia. However it does include some challenges, like Jabberwock for example and a few others. - Zafaria I remember it being more manageable simply because Waterworks/Wintertusk gear makes the world fly by easy. *Arc 3:* - Depending on how well geared you are Polaris can be a similar experience to Celestia but to a lesser degree. To make up for the lower health on bosses. Bosses now use shadow spells, crit, outgoing damage, and some pierce. This can make a wizard entering Polaris with at least Malistaire tier 3 gear, feel a lot of pain. - Otherwise, Empyrea would definitely be the hardest world of Arc 3. *Arc 4:* - Wallaru is definitely pretty difficult and tbh most of its points go to the solo fights against the irk bosses. Aside from that most players are using Aeon/Merciless or pack gear which makes the world a bit easier. - Karamelle definitely should take second place at least. Very difficult bosses get thrown at you randomly. Bundozer, Vedge, and Hangriest Gobbler are a few nasty examples. With Gobbler King Oogie Boogies being the most challenging to solo (unless you’re a death tbh). - Lemuria and Novus have difficult bosses sprinkled in but aren’t as bad as Karamelle and Wallaru.
This is also def a good list! We agree on most things, I think if Karamelle was a bit longer or had some harder mobs on top of those boss fights it would def be number 2 on the list. You also make a good point about Polaris being painful for people without good gear, I've only done it with Tier 1 Mali so I've never really considered what it's like without that.
@@deaththeclover azteca is way easier now than b4 the nerfs. You only start to come across 18k-22k bosses late into the world. The amount of 15k~ bosses was crazy to see especially after only knowing the grueling 28k pre nerf lol
