DAY 2- Rishikesh/Haridwar to Sonprayag. Stay in Gaurikund
DAY 3- Trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. Stay in Kedarnath
DAY 4- Kedarnath to Rishikesh. Stay in Rishikesh
DAY 5- Return from Rishikesh
Rishikesh to Sonprayag Bus Fare Rs. 500 (Timing 4 a.m to 10 a.m)
Rishikesh to Sonprayag Sharing Cab Fare- Rs. 700-1000 (Depending upon season)

Good to know tht you're planning to go this diwali. You won't face any issues as such. Infact, diwali is a good time to go. Having sais that, diwali this year is in mid Nov., so it's going to be cold. Be mentally prepared for that. You might witness snowfall also.
Crowd should be very less during this time. I went in October end. The crowd that time was neglible as compared to the peak season. Prices also comes down by that time.
The only problem I faced and you might face as well is of arranging transportation. The cabs are very few. I had a tough time finding cabs specially after coming back from Kedarnath as there were literally no cabs. It is festive time and everyone prefers to stay at home incl the cab drivers. It's a holiday for govt bus staff. So in case you are planning to go by a cab or bus, it might get difficult for you to find buses or cabs. If you're in Rishikesh or Haridwar, trying leaving as early as possible so that you don't miss onto any cab or bus. While coming back, I'll suggest you to take a day extra and stay in gaurikund or sonprayag. We literally had to convince the cab drivers to drop us till Rishikesh and had to change cabs twice. So please take note of that. Also, you may find only a few shops on the way as these people who run their shops don't prefer to stay after october since it gets cold. So you carry all the neccessary foodstuff etc with you for emergencies. Take all neccessary medicines and warm clothes. Keep yourself hydrated during the trek. You must carry ORS and glucose , dry fruits with you. Carry a waterbottle and get it refilled wherever possible.
The trek can be exhausting..just keep walking, don't take long rests. Start as early as possible (between 4 to 6 am)

Rishikesh mein I stayed in GoStops, Tapovan.
Food options are plenty on the way and in Kedarnath too. There are few dhabas in Kedarnath. The food is not that good but decent enough for you to survive.
Stay options are hell expensive. I'd suggest you to pre book GMVN dorms in Kedarnath. Hotel rooms starts are 5000-6000 for a night and these are in very bad shape. I stayed in an open dorm with like 30 other people in the space and it still costed me a 1000 Rs. Washrooms are almost everywhere. On the way in Kedarnath too. Feel free to ask restraunts, hotels , guest houses for washrooms. Don't shy away. Goodluck❤️

there are washrooms on the way. Just dont be shy. feel free to ask for washrooms wherever you are be it hotel, dhaba, shop, restaurant watever. Also I'm not shy in going out in open... if no one is watching ofc! 😉

Vahin par mil jaegi. Kuch bhi online book krne ki zarurt nahi hai except for stays that too book only if you're planning to stay in GMVN rest houses.

On the First day, I stayed in Gaurikund. I've mentioned the name of the hotel in the video. Price was around 1200. However, price may vary depending upon the season. I went around Oct end so it was less crowded and relatively cheap. However, if you plan to go now, it might happen that you may not find hotels in Gaurikund since it's very crowded at the moment with the pilgrims. So I'd suggest you to stay in Sonprayag. You need not to pre-book anything.
For the next day, you please pre-book stay for Kedarnath at GMVN rest houses. Otherwise, there are plenty of private camps, cottages in Basecamp Kedarnath. I've mentioned their names in the description box. Please check that. They will cost around 2-3k for a night. Dorms are also available for around 1k. You can also stay at GMVN Bheembaali. Please check the gmvn websites for that.
At Rishikesh, I'd suggest you to stay in a hostel if you're solo or a small group of friends. There are no. of good hostels in Tapovan, Rishikesh which you can book online through bookings.com, makemytrip etc.

At some places you may find....but usually they're mixed dorms only
